Need Wine Suggestions

Re: Need Wine Suggestions

  • I'd skip the white zin unless you have you're heart set on it. There are other blush varieties available that are nicer but still have a fruity vibe. You can even do a blush champagne. I called FI (he's a winemaker) and he suggested Francis Coppala Pinot Noir Rose. Not sure of the price point you're looking for, but he thinks it's around $10, and if you buy in bulk from TJ's or BevMo they might give you a decent discount.I'm a fan of pinots myself, both Gris and Noirs, (hence my sig name) but a reisling might be a good choice too. .
  • K, missed the posts above. My bad.
  • Maybe it just depends on your family, but white zin is my mom's favorite, and when I think about it, there tends to be a bottle of it when my mom's side get's together. I think it's really easy to drink for people that aren't very into wine. I'd rather have the pinot or the cabernet, but then again, I drink wine pretty often.
  • I'm not much of a red drinker, so I'll stay out of that one.  For whites, Chardonnay is relatively popular.  But, for those that don't like it, we typically hate it.  So, I'd recommend a second white, probably one that is sweeter.  Riesling & Gewurtztraminer are both popular & there are lots of nice affordable options.
