Where are you going...

...for your HM??? We really want to stay within our budget of $2k for our HM next April/May and it just seems like unless we book a last minute deal, it's not going to happen. So if you don't mind letting me know where you are going, if it's within my budget or around it, that would be very helpful. And we are open to going wherever. TIA!

My ideal HM would be a few days in Napa Valley then fly to Hawaii for a week, but we are on a major budget so we will probably be going to Florida, staying in his Grandparents condo that they have down there (they do not live there, they live here in Ohio) You could probably do a nice trip to Napa Valley or San Diego or something like that Check out www.zapta.com its a sight like Priceline but I think their prices are a lot lower.

We are going to Hawaii, my Dad has a timeshare in Phoenix with Marriot so he exchanged a week for a week in Hawaii. Not sure what we'll be doing, but I've always wanted to go so I'm excited.

We are going to Excellence Playa Mujeres in Mexico. We worked with Jennifer at VIP travel and she price checked for us for months until we found something we were comfortable paying. We paid just under $2500 for 2- roundtrip airfare, private transfers, and 7 nights AI.  Had we opted for 6 nights, it would have been about $2100.  I recommend talking with a TA and having them price, trip hunt for you. Even if you don't book with them, it's nice to have some help searching when you're on a budget! GL!

We went to Vegas.  LOVED it.  Stayed for 15 days, starting at Red Rock Resort, then to Zion National Park/Bryce Canyon (I wish we had stayed longer there), and then to the strip.  If you book early, I know you can do RT airfare for $200/person (taxes/fees included) nonstop from Columbus on Southwest.  I'm trying to convince DH to take me on a business trip with him.  There are so many deals right now, you could do a lot there.  What are you looking for?  Nightlife, beach, culture, etc.  That might help you narrow it down.  I hate the beach (I don't know how to relax, sadly), so a resort was out.  We wanted to do lots of things at our own pace, which made Vegas perfece for us.  PIB

We looked into going to Napa and then off to Hawaii as well as Europe, but we ended up booking a trip to Cozumel Mexico (the same vacation we took last summer). We wanted something familiar so we knew what to pack and we are happy we selected this. Turns out there was a pacific hurricane during the time we would have been there. Not fun at all. I am sure if you look around you can find what you want. I know our resort (Cozumel Palace) was running about 1k a person for 7 nights including airfare from both apple and funjet. We chose funjet and were very happy with the results. Both companies do a great job in getting you where you need to go and fast.

We're taking a 10 day cruise to Eastern Caribbean with Royal Caribbean. It was within your budget including airfare. I booked with AAA though. Don't know if that makes a difference. If that's the kind of thing you are looking for, I'd suggest a cruise. It's very budget friendly!

My wedding is in April too. We originally picked April for the wedding because we wanted to go to Europe (Prague in particular) and thought April was a good month to go, not too touristy yet and not hot enough to worry whether the hotel has AC. Now HM plans are kind of on hold because FI might have a work trip in June or July that I could tag along for, making that our HM. I don't feel comfortable leaving important planning decisions till the last minute but we might not even start looking until February when we know if the trip is happening or not. The last I checked on Riviera Maya vacation packages, there were some great all inclusive deals. Cancun and Riviera Maya tend to be cheaper Caribbean destinations. A cruise might also fit in your budget. We were going to spend more than 2k on our trip to Europe, probably closer to 4k, but then the wedding went way over budget so now I dunno. Good luck, fellow April bride!
