  • Oh the icing on the sh!tty cake= she wants to put a collar and chain around his neck. I want to cry right now.

  • I would frankly have to tell that person that I will never speak to them again if they wear that. WTF is wrong with them!?

  • Bec has a good point, there is pretty much no lower level they could stoop to.

  • Bec is totally right. I called my mom and she gave me good advice. I am going to tell her how I really feel. I might lose a friend but this stands against what I believe.

  • I would frankly have to tell that person that I will never speak to them again if they wear that. And then probably never speak to them again for even thinking it.
  • Do you HAVE to go out with them? I think I would stay home if associating myself with such a disgusting display was my other option. I would hate to think that being seen with those people was an endorsement of their costumes.
  • SO not cool. at all. Please let us know how she reacts when you tell her that her and her BF are damn fools for even thinking this was remotely close to possibly being a kinda good idea.

  • I will let you guys know.

  • wed, she shouldn't have her Halloween ruined for knowing a couple of d-bags.
  • Yes. It is our Anniversary. We want to celebrate.

  • I don't think she should either, that's just how I would feel in her situation. Hopefully talking to the friend will help. I just meant that if it were me, I don't think I could see myself spending the night with those particular friends.
  • I agree Wed, I can't see waiting for an a$$beating the whole night.

  • I'm not going to lie.  I am all for racist jokes, depending on what it is, dead baby jokes, etc.  I'm pretty open to any and all humour.  But, that is way too far I think.

  • There are so many funny things they could be Pinky and the Brain Thing 1 and Thing 2 Football Player and Trophy Wife Lady Luck and a High Roller A Pirate and his Booty Widow and a corpse A priest and a naughty nun Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes Obama and Michelle Pregnant Britney Spears and a fat Kevin Federline Basically, there a whole bunch of stupid/funny/slightly offensive couples costumes that don't push the envelope so far. They need to rethink this.
  • Yeah, rethinking would be the best for everyone.

  • dude, if my friends and I (many of whom are Jewish) saw people at a party like that, we wouldn't stay. that's just sick.would they think it's funny to dress up like a KKK member and a black person with a rope around their neck? probably not.
  • KKK member and a black person with a rope around their neck Wow, that would be so bad. I could see you getting shot for that. Although, in my town a kid go shot for telling someone to turn down music.
  • holocaust =/= lol

  • Wow, that literally turns my stomach. I think you got good advice from your mother -- you really need to tell these "friends" what you think of their costume. I'd say that's the end of the friendship if they insist on wearing it, but honestly, I think it's the end of the friendship anyway -- I couldn't stay friends with someone who could even think of wearing that.
  • OMG I am horrified by this. That is just a sick idea of a joke. What are you going to say to her/them? I would have a hard time even keeping calm for a conversation about it. Who does that?

  • Just have them go in plain clothes and they can be idiots for Halloween. (They really found this funny?)
  • I am going to ask her what the hell is wrong with her.
    image
  • Hopefully you can get your friend to change her mind, or maybe she will figure out on her own what a terrible idea this is.  If she still insists on it, I would not be going to the same bar as them.  I wouldn't want to associate with her, and it could also be dangerous if a fight broke out - even if nobody knows that you know them.
  • Well, good luck with talking to her. Have you talked to anyone else in your group of friends about this? I would bet there are others who will feel the same way as you. I hope everything turns out well and I certainly hope you are able to enjoy your anniversary! I'm glad you're willing to talk to her about it, too. Most of the time it's easier to bite your tongue and go along with stuff but jeeze, someone needs to say something to her!
  • I mean, that's a really audacious move by your friend... is she someone who likes to provoke people/cause drama?
  •  mean, that's a really audacious move by your friend... is she someone who likes to provoke people/cause drama? No, this is why I am shocked. I mean she likes to shock people, but in a kinky, sexy way. Never has she done anything out of line.

  • She is a super good friend She stood in my WP :( Gah!
    image
  • Thats actually how I would approach them on it.  Not so much of a "You are such a f*cked up person to do this"  but more of a saftey "have you thought about how people will react to this?"  standpoint.   They would probably be more inclined to listen to the second.

"Whatever East. You're just mad I RSVP'd "lame" to your pre-wedding sleepover."
  • i agree. it's not funny at all. also, i'd be afraid to stand beside them. who knows who will be offended and want to fight about it.
