I'm back!
That's right, your favorite resident Latinist is back with regulary knotting hours to chat and while away the time and translate things into Latin. Huzzah.
Becunning Life Updates:
I have a job teaching Latin in the fall (YAY!).
I have been accepted into a doctoral program (YAY!).
Boyfriend and I are doing well. We've talked about engagements (and like, real conversations, not me going, "WTF, yo!") and discussed how we'd like to get married.
Boyfriend and I are deadlocked on the issue of whether I'd change my name.
And I'm very happy!
Now, update me on your lives! Ask me questions! Keep me entertained!
Re: It's summer, and you know what that means?!
BF is moving in sometime in the next few weeks. Yay so excited for it, a little nervous too becuase I've never lived with a BF before. He is working on clearing stuff out and getting rid of his fish.
BF has said recently he is not waiting for anything specific to happen in life before he proposes and that he has been thinking a lot about it lately. I stopped him from saying anymore. So I was happy with that.
Any vacation plans for the summer? Or any other interesting plans for the summer?
congrats on all your updates! I'm especially happy that your BF is opening up about stuff, instead of just keeping you in the dark. I know you were really frustrated with that.
actually, I'm especially happy about ALL your updates. sounds like you're doing great!
I am taking classes this summer for my new doc program, but I do have one super awesomely geeky travel plan this summer: I am going to a Latin immersion camp where I will (learn to) speak Latin all day. I'm really excited about it. The camp is in July. Other than that, I think we'll be going down to the lake often to scuba dive. The studly bf has gotten involved with a scuba shop and will be helping out with checkouts. So, really, a very full summer planned.
Congrats on everything! I've been stalking you on FB, and it's definitely been nice to keep up with you while you haven't been around. We missed you!
Not too much going on here - BF and I are trying to figure out what our living situation is going to be come August. There's been a lot of back and forth about the whole thing. It's really a ginormous headache. But other than that, things are really awesome here! I seem to have forgotten when you disappeared, but I got a job back in DC, and am quite happy with everything.
I disappeared in January, right when I started teaching. Apparently teaching is not conducive to internet play time.
What are you doing in DC?
[QUOTE]Thanks coco! I'm glad he's opened up too. I do hate waiting though. I don't like surprises.

I'm glad he opened up too. The summer immersion camp sounds great. I'd love a camp like that, except for french. I've never done the diving thing, so jealous. Hopefully some day!
I have told BF I want to be completely surprised when the time comes so b/c of that there is only so much I want to know, even though I really want to know.
Danser: I really dislike surprises. When studly came back from Europe early to surprise me, I freaked out. (And not in a YAY way). We're both still upset about it: me because I was a wreck, busy, and the house was dirty, and I greeted him in pajama pants and unkempt hair and him because I wasn't ecstatic and happy to be surprised like that. I like to be emotionally and physically prepared for large changes.
Lennon: How was Japan?! Any news on your dream job application?
[QUOTE]I'm glad you found a dress RDR! That's definitely exciting. Even better that you have a break for now. Danser: I really dislike surprises. I defintely understand that, a proposal should be a happy time not something that causes you to freak out.
[QUOTE]You facebook stalker you! I love the facebook group because even though my FB time has been reduced too, I can still see what's going on! I disappeared in January, right when I started teaching. Apparently teaching is not conducive to internet play time. What are you doing in DC?

I'm working for a management consulting company. I really love what they do, and what they stand for. We had Global Service Day two weeks ago, and it was fantastic - all of our offices got out in the community and did some awesome stuff. Our office helped revitalize a school where 90% of the kids are on free/reduced lunch. My specific job is kind of boring. I'm essentially an EA for one of our Exec Directors. :)
Lennon, I will have to check out your photos. It sounds awesome. And g'luck on the whole application process. I'm sending vibes.
Peek: That sounds really interesting, and I'm glad you're enjoying it so much.
This summer is mad busy.
Also, welcome to summer. You have some freedom!
