Our wedding colors are black, white, and cobalt blue- things are going to have a retro-y flair to them too. Thoughts on how things will look if we pretty much just use the cobalt blue for a small accent?
The bud vases (2 on each table), my shoes, maybe a couple other little things will be cobalt. Incorporating cobalt flowers, even blue for that matter, is tough. I might do agapanethis(the one and only cobalt flower! It is very small) in my white bouquet too. What about BM dresses in cobalt, would you like to wear that color? (I would but it's my favorite!)
I would also appreciate any ideas too!
TIA
Re: Wedding color question
Your description sounds fine. My colors are black, white/cream and silver, and I'm only using the silver in the colors of the branches, maybe some other small things, and perhaps an accent on the bridesmaids dresses. But I'm letting them choose their own black dresses (the BM are different sized, different ages, different states ).
Good luck. I'm sure it will be lovely.
Unless you already have a good known source for the cobalt blue flowers, I'd stick with all white, with blue ribbon. Blue flowers are hard to come by.
For BM dresses, I'd find cobalt too strong or dramatic a color for me personally, because it would wash me out. But, I've seen on other people and thought it looked fine.
If all your BMs are fairly striking looking, cobalt or deep blue should be fine. If any of them are (forgive me) mousy or homely, it may not be their best color. In which case, as a pp suggested, black BM dresses with a cobalt blue sash or accent would be great.
Thanks ladies! I have been leaning towards black dresses for the BMs anyway but just needed some advice because I would LOVE them to be cobalt but I don't think they would appreciate it as much as I do! lol
@ kiki- you are right about the color being exact, I didn't even really give that aspect of the cobalt BM dresses a thought!
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.
Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
