Ceremony musicians/Reception Bands

Does anyone have any suggestions or info about affordable classical music ceremony musicians?  I see there's a group called Anthology Strings for the HV, but they look pretty expensive.  I'd love to have a harp, violin, etc., I know it gets pricey but at least if they people are local I won't have to pay "out of town" fees.  Also...not at all interested in the traditional wedding bands...would like to have more modern music at reception, like trip-hop, downtempo, and lounge.  Any recommendations for this kind of music, either from a non-cheesy DJ or a band that plays this kind of music?  Tall order I know!  THANKS!

Thanks!  Would you describe them as affordable?  Trying to figure out the going rate before I contact anyone yet...their music is really beautiful!

Yes - they are very affordable and great to work with.  For a wedding band, try a bar/cover band.  they can often be less expensive and could work with a DJ.  That's what we are doing.

I know the band we're using can play anything, they're called Soul Revival and are fabulous, definately not the traditional wedding band at all, and compared to some other bands we contacted, they are very affordable. They're also doing our ceremony music. Their website is www.soulrevivalband.com HTH

You bet it does...thank you so much...they are incredible!!  I never thought I'd hear a band that could play a wedding and not be cheesy.  Now, I just hope they are available!!  :)
