Supermarket Cake

We want a simple three tier round classic wedding cake so in an attempt to save money we've decided to order from a supermarket. We like the taste of the cakes at Stop & Shop but they only offer rectangle wedding cakes (strange looking). We bought a piece of cake from Shaw's and it was awful. Has anyone had cake from Roche Brothers? Or do you know of another 'cheap' place in the Falmouth area where we could order a simple cake?

Some shaws are also sell Montilio's cakes - they are really good. I know the shaws by us (I'm in Franklin) does, but not sure about others. Might be worth calling around to see if they are affordable. Surprisingly, BJs has really good cakes as well... not sure if they'll do a 3-tier round. It's been awhile since I had a Roche Bros cake, but I remember them being decent.HTH

A friend of mine just used Shaws for her 3 tired round weding cake & it was awesome!!! She lives in Plymouth though so she got it at the Shaws at exit 6 (I think). You might want to taste cakes at different stores. I wish I had another suggestion for you!!! Good luck!

Try Windfall Market in Falmouth. It is an independently owed upscale supermarket (comparable to a Whole Foods)... I've never tried their cake, but I am thinking of using their florist!http://www.windfallmarket.com/zgrid/proc/site/sitep.jsp

I had my friends friend do it and it was absolutely wonderful and she worked with my budget. She works for catering companies around town on the Cape. My cake was extremely delicious also. We had our cake done at Roche Bros in Mashpee, it was great. And Denise the bakery manager was great to deal with.
