Question for Married Ladies

How much booze did you go through for how many guests? We are trying to figure out how much to order and what our caterer is saying does not match what my friends who just got married are saying. Help please! Background info: Roughly 145 guests Lots of young people Lots of loud Jewish family drinkers who must have wine to tolerate one another =) Wine and Beer only Any help is greatly appreciated!

Well, I won't give you numbers because they are well..depressingly large but I will say that our average guest had 4.5 drinks over the course of the 5 hour reception.  Not every guest was drinking, maybe 50-60% had at least 1 drink.  Hope that helps.

Wow. We had a lot. For about 175 ppl we had 10 cases of wine (6 non chard whites 4 reds) and 15 cases of beer (miller lite, yuengling, & cottonwood pumpkin). We had 1 case of white leftover & 3 cases of mixed beer.

One last post, promise. If we would have gone with the numbers Durham catering gave us, we would have run out really early. They said they could go out and buy more if that happened, but we knew our guests better than they do.

Stupid question, please don't judge.... by case (of beer) you mean 24, right? We have all our wine but our still working on beer. I like your choices, Lusher!

For 85 people we had:1 full keg1 half keg5 cases of wine - 3 red, and 2 whiteWe ended up with a fair amount of beer left - probably a 5th of each keg was left and 1 case of wine left (a combo of red and white)I would recommend having more than you think you will need because that way you have leftovers (if you drink) and you won't fret about running out.

We opted to pay a per head fee for alcohol at Highgrove vs. going with a consumption bar, so I'm not sure how much our guests actually drank. There is a calculator available on Evite that enables to to estimate how much alcohol to purchase based on the number of guests you have and how many are light, average, and heavy drinkers. That might be helpful to you.
