Y'know after I posted that, I also thought, they're going to think it's all too rich actually.I want to say I've used stevia as a tea sweetener before.  I bought it after reading an article about it.  I must not have been to impressed, I don't really remember it.  I don't even know if I still have it.

it's being marketed now as "Truvia" an alternative sweetner.

Truvia is not the same as stevia. It's just processed differently.

What do I know from this crap? I use sugar.

:) I use truvia in my coffee. I think it's less bitter than stevia ( I think stevia has a bitter after taste).

I'll buy that for my chili b/c the fat helps with those things.  But I brown the meat first and drain off, soak up a lot of that.

Yeah, I know.I think it's why she makes me so veklempt.  She has good ideas, just really bad implementation.  Buy the cheap meat.  But drain it off to make it more healthy.  Buy the cheap meat, but NOT 70 POUNDS OF IT.  I hope she has a deep freeze of some sort of that and it's really just not in her regular refrigerator. Also, I think she could make some better choices like with grated versus block cheese.

v, it's exactly why she jamaica me crazy.  it's all this: "it was cheap!" but no "and here's what i plan to make with it."  NO PLAN.i mean, the pumpkin was just crazymaking.  a carving pumpkin is not the same as an eating pumpkin.  she said something about how most people eat pumpkin in sweet desserts.  sure, if the pumpkin is a pie pumpkin or a snacky jack.  there is plenty of savory pumpkin dishes, and you use a different kind of pumpkin in those.the cheese is also an issue.  she uses grated, sure, but she also uses american.  AMERICAN.  and then talks about eating garbage.4 realz.  dh and i make a list of what we plan to eat and buy things that will make them.  sometimes we alter those plans -- as in, chicken wings are on sale.  we had planned to eat something else, but we'll be eating chicken wings that week.  or if the eggs are getting old - we're having frittata for dinner.it's not about eating cheap; it's about not being wasteful.  no reason to buy stuff just to have it -- have a plan.
