NWR: Breakfast Dish

Does anybody have a recipe for a breakfast casserole or Monkey Bread? I'm in charge of bringing breakfast to our SS class this Sunday. TIA!

Our breakfast casserole:12 eggs1 lb of sausage, browned in a pan3 pieces of bread broken into pieces10 oz of cheese1 tbl of mustardsalt and pepperMix it all together and pour into a shallow baking dish.  Cook at 350 for 50 minutes.  You can just get a cinnamon monkey bread in most freezer cases.  However, they're small and you might want two.

Wait, I have one! ·        1 medium onion diced ·        1 bell pepper diced ·        2 gloves of garlic (I use the boxed cubed garlic) ·        12 eggs ·        ½ cup heavy cream ·        2 Tbsp. butter ·        1 cup sour cream ·        1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese ·        1/8 tsp. white pepper ·        ½ tsp. salt   Preparation:   Melt butter in large skillet over medium heat cook onion until transparent. Add bell pepper and garlic. Cook until pepper is soft. Beat eggs with cream in a large bowl. (The more the air the fluffier the casserole) Pour eggs into skillet and cook, stirring frequently, until eggs are scrambled and just set, but still moist.   Remove pan from heat stir in sour cream. Spread eggs into a greased 12X7” glass baking dish. Cover and refrigerate overnight.   When ready to eat, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Uncover the baking dish and sprinkle eggs with pepper and salt. Stir gently, sprinkle cheese over the top and bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until cheese is melted and eggs are hot. 8 servings.

I cut it into 12 squares.  Most of my family can't handle onions and peppers and that's why we like this one.  The mustard gives it some good taste.

The Pioneer Woman has a bunch of delicious looking breakfast recipes, including one for Monkey Bread. http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/category/brunch/I'm dying to try her cinnamon rolls, but I'm scared of any recipe with yeast.

CrombieFaye...we make this for the holidays...we call it sopilla cheesecake! Totally scrumptious and everyone used to fight over them! Now FI and I make a bucket for each of our siblings as part of their gift! And by the way ladies, I'll probably try each of your recipes. We have family coming in soon and these all sound wonderful!

Balletbride--I made the pumpkin spice muffins from thepioneerwoman.com this week and brought them to work to share. Everyone really liked them, but I botched the frosting and it tasted a little off. Good recipe!

Yeah, you should do something with cinnamon and/or other spices like the pumpkin muffins. Very season-appropriate!
