Wedding officiant help!

Hey!!! I am getting Married September 4, 2010 and my next step is to find someone to marry us!! I contacted St. Peter and Paul in Sewell, NJ (my home town church) and they do not do ceremonies outside of the church. I was wondering if anyone knew of people who do catholic weddings outside of a church........ im not even sure what to call them..Officant? Priest?? Not sure but this is my next step and I didnt know if anyone can help. Thanks!! Dancing Bride 2010 http://www.alexkroldance.com

She is right no catholic priest will marry you outside of church. Its against the catholic churches rules.

My parents used to attend a church in Egg Harbor City called Christ Wesleyan.  They have three pastors (2 English, 1 Spanish speaking) all who are very very nice people.  They may be willing to marry you so you can still have a Christian ceremony/blessing.http://www.christswesleyan.org/

I also suggest that you ask the wedding coordinator at Smithville Inn to see if they have any recommendations.  I believe most of their weddings are done outdoors, so they must know of some officiants who have done the ceremony there.

We used Melissa Brown from Weddings By Melissa.  She was fantastic.  She married us outside at the Carriage House.  We highly recommend her.

I am getting married on the beach, but still wanted a more traditional cereomy. Father Matthew Martin is who we are using. He lives in Freehold, and is still active with the catholic church. He will be performing a catholic ceremony for us, with the traditional blessings and readings, the marriage just won't be recognized by the catholic church. He told me that there is a process we can go thru after we are married to petition the church to accept our marriage. It will still be recognized by the state, which is I guess more of what I care about. His e-mail address is mattmarym@aol.com Hope that helps!

Our wedding planner rec. go onto the marriageman.com and use him.  Sounds corny, but has had good reviews.
