Need a great budget photographer!

Hi Guys!  I need to start realistically looking for a wedding photographer and I need advice!  I’m looking for a package that includes at least 6 hrs of photography, engagement session and printing rights to all the photos.  I’d prefer 2 photographers, but that might be pushing it.  We are on a budget, but I really want a good photographer.  I’ll like to keep it around $2000, maybe $2500 max.  We like the photojournalistic style but we also want some nice formals of us (since we have none!).  I’m horrible in pictures (tend to make stupid faces), so I’m hoping we can find someone who will tell me what to do to get some good photos.  Please recommend your favorite photographer!  PS.  Wedding will be in Cambridge.

We're using Dan Nystedt.  He has a package for 6h that starts at $1900.  You get a dvd with all the pics.  It includes I think 120 "enhanced" photos (of your choice).  I think engagement session would be like $300-400 extra, but he has a cool style, is young, and seems really great. www.nystedtphotography.com Oh, and I think his website says he lives in NH, but he moved to I think Somerville or Newton or someplace nearby.
Yay! Finally able to update my signature :)

I am using Melissa Nicastro and she fits what your are looking for http://www.melissanicastrophotography.com/  She is right in your price range, comes with another photographer, unlimited hours, engagment pictures included and printing rights.  We are having e-pics done in 2 weeks so I can let you know how those come out but so far she has been very nice and easy to work with.    We are getting married in Boston so I know she would do Cambridge.

We just booked John LoConte and he is great! All of his packages are under $2500.  We chose the middle package, which was $1550.  It includes 8 hours, and you can add an e-pic session for $250.

Tiffany Converse is definitely within your budget, is EXCELLENT to work with and she offers a lot for the price. She works out of Maine but is willing to travel to MA. We didn't end up going with her because she was ot available on our date but I would definitely recommend her. http://www.tiffanyconversephotography.com/We ended up going with Scot Huber. He offers a package that is $1250 for 8 hours. He does some amazing work and has a photojournalistic style as well.http://movementsofscotland.blogspot.com/

You might want to look at these photographers: www.PhotographyByMediaConcepts.com www.BerryPhotos.com We are using Media Concepts for our video, but did see his photography when we went to his studio, very good and priced right. Berry's work is also beautiful, great price but he is booked on my date. (as of right now, we don't "officially" have a photographer, but we are thinking of switching to a photo/video package that Media Concepts has. HTH.

Hi!I would highly recommend our photographer, Megan Dupuis of Perspectives Photography.  (FI and I are the apple picking engagement session.)http://www.perspectives-photography.com/index2.phpHer base package for 8hrs coverage, 1 photographer, is $1650 (this years prices.  Not sure if they will change).  If you want the printing rights and all the digital negatives, it is another $700, but the base package includes a coffee table proof book and $100 print credit.  She has other packages that include a second photographer.  She's extremely professional, but also very nice.  FI and I loved her fine art style, photojournalistic sense, but particularly her detail shots.  She was the best we looked at, including photographers who charged more than double her rates.

you HAVE to check out Blush Photography out of Natick, MA. karen is the owner and photographer. she was phenominal to work with, very affordable, great creative shots. You can see us on her website- Tommy and Erin in the old caddilac car. blushweddingfilms.com. we paid $1800 and got 3times that in return! I spent months looking for lower budget professionals to work with and it was so worth it. we saved a ton and no one would know! good luck have a blast planning! it goes by too fast! Also Video creations by alan is a STEAL for a videographer. same thing- very inexpensive but good quality. let them know Erin DiCarlo sent you. happy searching. erin

We're also using peter wasylak, and his package is the best that we were able to find. It will be $1380 for unlimited coverage, an album, rights to all the digital negatives, and an engagement session.
