Bridal Party Number

What are your thoughts on not having a bridal party?  I was planning on having about 3. We are having a 150-200 people wedding so it is fairly small. My Maid of Honor-to-be told me she was in another wedding on the same day.  We already have paid deposits and cannot change very easily.  I am upset and have almost decided that we should have any bridesmaids or groomsmen at all. What are you thoughts?

its not a requirement to have a bridal party or groomsmen. or maybe not have a maid of honor. what about the others you were going to have in the party. can they be there? it doesnt have to be even on both sides

We're not having a bridal party.  So far I think it has made the planning process much easier since I don't have to worry about anyone but me & the fiance!

How are you planning on bringing out your colors during the ceremony?  My colors are red and black. I was planning on having their dresses black and the flowers red. I am not sure what I would do know if we dont have the bridal party.

my only advice is that if you already asked your girls to be bridesmaids then you really, really shouldn't take that away.  Even if your MOH has to drop out.  You need to keep the others. Now, if you haven't asked anyone yet then that is different and it's your call.  People don't have wedding parties all the time.HTH

I haven't asked the rest of the girls yet. I will talk to the FI and see what he wants to do.

To repeat PP, you don't have to have a bridal party, you don't have to have a MoH but can still have BM, or you can have a lot of BM/GM like me and BalletBride! haha! (I have 7)

Pretty much what everyone else said. You don't have to have a wedding party at all. In fact, it will save you a little money on WP flowers, thank you gifts, and the rehearsal dinner. And will save you some of the headaches of the attendant's attire. But once you've asked someone to be an attendant, you can't gracefully change your mind. If you have enough time, you can always wait until closer to the wedding date to decide and ask attendants. Just long enough to order a dress and have it altered if needed. About 4-6 months out?
