Dana - that's beautiful! Love it!!! What are you doing with it now? Thanks girls...I'm checking all these suggestions now. Obviously I have to be concious of the time it would take to create one or have one delivered. haha. I'm such a procrastinator.
If you don't like the card boxes maybe a bag? My cardbox was like 100 bucks on ebay and I bought it from a knottie, I would have gotten a bag if not because I don't like them either
I know I felt the same way. It honestly wasn't that hard to assemble. We went to a fabric store, bought 3 boxes, and cut a hole in one. Then covered each layer in the fabric. I know you're probably short on time because its coming up so fast, but if you have all your BM's over one day, you can probably get it made fairly quickly. My mom is a perfectionist, and much more crafty than me, so she made alone and I think she made it by herself in a weekend
unfort all my bridesmaids lives in different areas...on in NJ, one in NYC, 2 in MA, but not super close to me. So it's tough to ask them to help. My Mom has other things to worry about than my cardbox haha. I'll find something...gonna go to homegoods and see if I can find a bird cage. Was at one this weekend and there was nothing. Cheryl, a bag? what kind of bag? I kinda want something that is at least a little protective of people having access to stealing. I've just heard so many horror stories.
What about a mailbox? Quick and somewhat inexpensive. You can probably just buy a white one and maybe decorate it a little bit, or even just put some pics of you and your FI all over it?
Chelsea: I checked out AC Moore, Jo Ann Fabrics, and Michael's. I hated everything and the cost was ridiculous. We ended up just buying a plain wooden box and glued our intials on top ("S heart J") and called it a day. I think we spent $14. It's actually cute and now we are using it to hold keepsakes from the wedding day (i.e. invites, menus, wedding cards, etc.).
Chelsea: we got it at AC Moore. Just head to the section with all of the wooden objects, lol. It's very simple, so if that's not what you want and if you are crafty, you can fix it up even more. We didn't even want a cardbox but thankfully we got one b/c we had no place to put the cards. Did I mention we did this 48 hours before the wedding? Haha! Thanks Dana!
Sam, I consider myself crafty enough to do that. I'll head there this weekend to see what I can do! thanks! Kathy - I love yours! If I see something like that at homegoods, it's mine!
really? where do you live? If it's convenient enough for me to get it when I get home next week, I may just have to. I'm a Sussex County girl...I love me some farms!
