Anyone lighting your monogram on the dancefloor?

Dying to do it! But how does that work? Do you create your own monogram? Does the DJ usually take care of this along with the uplighting? Anyone know how much this costs? Thanks knotties!

It's called Gobo I believe and most DJ's offer it but I'm not sure what it costs!

Hey Mrs. Nelz,Are you a new Knottie? If so, welcome.I am having my monogram on a "gobo" light on the floor. Most of the wedding DJs (Ubi, Vision DJs, etc) include lighting as an option for their services and they will walk you through the process of either #1 choosing a monogram design they already have or #2 having your custom monogram.I hired a vendor seperate for lighting as I got a better deal doing it seperate. Check out my bio for vendor info. In my lighting package, I have uplights, pinspots, and the monogram light included. I did have to send my custom monogram to be made into a "gobo" for the spot light. I ordered it from www.gobosource.com and it is $79-$105 for the gobo that you give to your lighting vendor.Hope this info helps! If you have more questions, page me.

ISP DJ has a package for $795 that includes 5hours music 10 uplights and a gobo.   The dj suggested we do not shine the Gobo to the dance floor, although it looks great in the beginning of the party, once the dancing start and the  dance floor lights start going the gobo image will disappear. So we are putting it on the wall above our sweetheart table.

I went to a bridal show a couple of weeks ago and there was a company there that offered the lighting and gobo it's called Party Sparks, I've been wanting to call them, but i'm just starting to plan my wedding for 2011 so I think I can hold off on those extras for now.
