Bridal Shower Poll

Ladies, my shower is next Saturday.  I was just curious to find out what you girls did/will do/think...1. Will you use your gifts prior to the wedding?2. Any gifts you recieved prior to the shower, did you send them thank you notes before or after?3. For girls who had a shower, did you make a bouquet/hat our of ribbon?TIA!

    1. Will you use your gifts prior to the wedding?Only a few, like our coffeemaker.  We are waiting until we move to open most everything else up.2. Any gifts you recieved prior to the shower, did you send them thank you notes before or after?We didn't get any gifts before the shower. I have 3 more TY notes to write then I'm sending them out.3. For girls who had a shower, did you make a bouquet/hat our of ribbon?Yes my sister did, but I don't have it anymore.

    1. Will you use your gifts prior to the wedding? You're not supposed to, but I did....2. Any gifts you recieved prior to the shower, did you send them thank you notes before or after? I received some gifts prior to the shower, but I sent all my Thank You's out at once about a week after the shower was held.3. For girls who had a shower, did you make a bouquet/hat our of ribbon? Ugh...I HATE this tradition. My girls started to make one with what ribbons they could find (I had a "green" shower with no wrapping) and it miraculously disappeared after the shower...I never saw it. I have a feeling it will be turning up in Aruba!

    1. Will you use your gifts prior to the wedding?  After - I am saving all of our gifts and money until we buy a house.2. Any gifts you recieved prior to the shower, did you send them thank you notes before or after?  I send thank you notes right away.3. For girls who had a shower, did you make a bouquet/hat our of ribbon?  NopeHave fun at your shower!

    1. Will you use your gifts prior to the wedding?   Yes.  We actually got a lot of cash and used it to help pay for the balance of our trip.2. Any gifts you recieved prior to the shower, did you send them thank you notes before or after?Before.  Ditto with wedding gifts that have been coming in.  To me, it's easier to just get them out of the way as soon as possible.3. For girls who had a shower, did you make a bouquet/hat our of ribbon?Yes bouquet (hats are for baby showers).  It's packed in my carry-on bag.  Since we're not having a rehersal I might be really corny and carry it down the aisle on the plane.

    1. We are using them, we just bought a house, we need all of that stuff. Everyone who was at my shower knew we had just bought a house & got us registry items for the house like towels, tupperware, dishes, etc. 2. I sent all of my TY's after the shower, any gifts I got prior to the shower I saved and didn't open until the shower. 3. Yep! I love it! I was so excited about doing this because I forgot about it, luckily the ladies who planned the shower didn't forget and I was really thrilled when I saw my BM putting it together. I have quite a few Crate & Barrel ribbons on there! Hahaha!

    1. Yes, we really really needed a few of the things we got. Plus, the wedding is still 6 months away, I couldn't wait that long! 2. Yes, we got two gifts before the shower and I sent thank yous out right away. 3. My MOH saved all the ribbons/bows to make a bouquet. I had never heard of this tradition before.

Yes, I know, we're bad....my justification is that our house is wayyyyy too small to have boxes of stuff sitting around full of stuff we can't use2. Any gifts you recieved prior to the shower, did you send them thank you notes before or after? I didn't have this happen, but I would have just sent it out w/ the shower notes, unless it was more than 2 weeks before3. For girls who had a shower, did you make a bouquet/hat our of ribbon? FI's grandma made a bouquet for me, but it's just sitting in a closet b/c I don't know what to do w/ it

    . Will you use your gifts prior to the wedding? I plan on using most of it, some of the bath items I got are for when we remodel the bathroom this winter(we just bought a house as wel this summer). I say plan to because as I am writing this I am staring at all the gifts sitting all over the living room since I have yet to put them away from my shower this past weekend! 2. Any gifts you recieved prior to the shower, did you send them thank you notes before or after? I got one about a month before and one two days before, I have waited to send them both, along with the rest, which I plan to finish and mail this weekend. 3. For girls who had a shower, did you make a bouquet/hat our of ribbon? My 9 year old niece did this for me! She did a great job! Even after some other family members said I didn't really need to because there won't be a rehersal, but she did it anyway and I am very proud of her. I got some cute pictures of her with it too. I'll hand on to it for awhile.
