Invitation Kits from Michael's

What are everyone's opininons the BRIDES Invitation Kits from Michael's? Has anyone used them? If so, were they good quality? Do you think they look cheap since they're mass produced and everyone will be able to tell they're from Michael's?

  • I don't know, but I came by to ask the same thing! I'm considering getting them...
  • My cousin used them and two friends.  I bought 2 kits also.  They look really decent and don't look cheap.  You just download the template from the website listed instead and set your printer up.  Really easy for a DIY project!

Just use a coupon!  Save yourself cash!  :)

    Good luck.
  • You can try 123print, they send 3 free samples if you want They are affordable and you can find 15-20% off coupons on retailmenot. My invites for $100 are costing less than $70 including the rsvp cards, my std's cost 20.36 for 100

  • I didn't use the BRIDES brand, but we bought ours at Wal-Mart. I think they were Wilton brand. We liked them, they didn't look cheap and were really easy to use. I already had our wording ready to go and typed out, so we basically just had to print them. It goes pretty fast especially if you have a fast printer. I think the DIY kits are the smart way to go. Why pay $300+ for something that is just going to go in the trash? H and I wanted that money elsewhere and that is exactly what we did.

I received one for a wedding that was the Brides.  It turned out really cute!
  • i was just at michaels, i think they're super cute and there are some fun colors.  they're also 40% off right now without a coupon, but you can sign up for their email list and get 40% off coupons every week.

i will say - i bought a kit so i could look at them a little more closely.  when i opened up the box, a couple of the pages were all bent and a little dirty, a few pages were even ripped.  looked like somebody had returned them and they weren't repackaged properly.  i returned them and they damaged it out.

so, you may want to just want to check them carefully.  but i think the designs are really pretty and i don't think they look cheap at all.  the walmart ones look good too!

I agree, the Michael's invitations are great.  My fiancée and I bought a kit and we were delighted to find all matching stationery: programs (which we will use for menus as well), escort cards and thank you cards.  We wanted something elegant so we picked a cream and black design, although we are not having a black-white wedding.

But you can also "embellish them" if you think they are too plain.
I found little gold rhinestone stickers in the book-scraping area at Michael's also that I will use to embellish my invitations, and I will change the black ribbons on the invitations and programs with gold ones.  Very inexpensive way to add a special touch to them.
They will go in the trash anyway ! ! !Kiss
  • We used Wilton brand invitation kits, and the Brides brand kits for our programs and escort cards.  They all were really easy to use, and turned out awesome.  When people heard they were DIY kits they were amaazed.

  • you guys have inspireed me to check this out!
  • I just bought 2 boxes of these today and was super excited BUT when I opened it up they weren't the same kit!  Everything down to the UPC was the same but inside it was 2 different kits (the paper style was the same but different envelopes- regular and pocket fold- and 1 had escort cards).  I'm still going to use them because I like them and really who goes around comparing invites?!
