I'm around. I was supposed to help fi decorate the fire house and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters, but I have a cold, and aside from being generally unhappy with being sick, I figured parents didn't want my sick-a$$ getting germs all of their kids' candy. So I'm home tonight.
Im here kind of, I felt really awful about the little kid who came to the door and I didnt answer because we had no candy, so I went and bought some. Now no kids are coming and im pretty pissed I wasted 12$. I am sitting downstairs in the livingroom incase any come, but I came upstairs to check the knot.
I'm here, eating my roast chicken and Brussels sprouts. I'm going out in a little bit to pick up some photos I ordered at Walgreens, but after I get back I'll be around for the evening watching the Phillies, scrapbooking and knotting.
Nebb, I've had no kids, and spent double what you did. Sad face. And FWIW, I think it's sweet you caved on your least favorite holiday. What was the kid dressed as?
I didnt get the best look, but he had a red and black something outfit on and paint on his face. He couldnt have been more than 5 years old though, so I just feel awful. I was tempted to drive around the neighborhood looking for him to give him candy, but my husband said that would be creepy.
We just got back from dinner and the neighborhood is swamped w/ trick or treaters. I never thought to get candy. Not used to living in town, growing up in the country we really didn't trick or treat Neighbor fail.

Yeah that would be kind of creepy, but I totally understand. I did that a few weeks ago at a petting zoo. I had extra feed left and chased down little kids who's parents didn't want to spring the $5 for a cup. I did have my niece with me though, so I don't think it was TOO creepy. But I felt creepy if that matters.
I love petting zoos!! I only ever got to go to one once when I was a kid, it was this big open yard with deer and animals like that. My mom had the food and kept handing me some and all of the animals circled her and some of them were headbutting her - she was not impressed and refused to ever take me to a petting zoo again.
I'm here passing out candy. But there's like 1/4 of the trick or treaters as last year... Are parents crazy and not letting kids trickortreat bc of swine?

Sucrets, why are you afraid to make baked ziti? Sounds delicious!Nebb, you should go to these things as an adult. We've been doing a lot of kid friendly stuff lately but have had a blast - with or without kids!NCV2, did you do anything for Halloween? Seems a bit early to be home from partying already. Unless you're just getting ready to go out ;P
I'm here, making chili and cornbread and working on invitations. We haven't had a single trick-or-treater yet and it's 6 o'clock. Is it still too early? I KNOW there are lots of kids in our neighborhood, too. WTF? We have tons of candy.

I keep worrying people will think im a pervert when I think of things like that to do. I wanted to go around taking photographs of nicely decorated halloween/fall looking houses, but didnt because I didnt want to be the creepy pervert taking pictures while kids are trick or treating. I over think everything. We have a petting zoo here, atleast I think we still do, called Happy Rolphs (I love that name), I should go next spring to see all the baby animals. I love baby animals more than anything.
Sucrets - doooo eeeeeeeetttt.Nebb, you totally need to indulge your inner little girl. I was a pretty princess with my pretty princess crown last night at Medival Times. A drunk pretty princess, but still a pretty princess.
FI knows that if we pass a petting zoo, we are going in, no questions asked. For instance, here I am begging FI to let me take one of the goats home:
I would love to go to mideval times! There is one in toronto and I have passed it so many times but never gone. There is a horse pavillion near by to it, and we were at this huge carnival there and we went in the horse building, and I have a tradition of naming every horse and saying hello to it (did it ever year as a kid). My husband looked at me like I was crazy and wouldnt let me name them all.
Nebb - as long as you're not cruising the streets in a candy van, you'll be fine. Thanks guys. I definitely know what I like (ricotta and mozz!), so I'm sure it will be delish, but it's just getting over the cooking fear.I also have to clean the pyrex first.

Great, k! I've read it's best to take stuff before bed because usually that's the longest time that your bladder is full and bacteria have more time to grow.

Sarah, that pic is great! Nebb, it was fun. It could've ended about a half hour before it did, but it was still great. We all had drinks out of the HUGE glasses and were able to take them home. Not sure I'd do it again, but it was fun.
