Shoes (2 parts)

Part 1:

Got 'em! They're not turquoise, though - not yet. I went to The Bootery in Longwood, because a while ago someone said they would dye shoes there. They aren't doing dyes anymore, but they did have some dyeable shoes. I got a very simple pair - kind of like this, only there are no rhinestones on the toe strap, and the toe strap is about 1-1.5" wide. Now I just need to find someplace to dye them - any ideas?

Part 2:

Need to figure out shoes for DD, since she'll be the FG. She's wearing a turquoise dress, BMs are wearing black cocktail dresses. I feel like it'd look funny for her to wear ivory shoes with that, but then I feel like black shoes would be too dark for a little girl to wear at a spring wedding. A saleslady suggested dying shoes for her to match mine/match her dress, but that seems like overkill. Maybe metallic shoes? Whatcha think?

I can't see the pictures of the shoes you have posted :-(  Just a box with a question mark. (the box is kinda turquoise though, LOL)

I like the idea of metallic shoes for your little girl.  Maybe even metallic that would match her dress (if you could find it).. that way it would match, but be a little offset because they'd be metallic?  IDK- thats the best I have..... :-)

That's the shoe I tried to include before. :)

I think I'm leaning toward metallic shoes for DD, too... thanks!

The shoes you got are so cute!  Are you going to still also get/wear the Chinese Laundry ones?
I also vote metallic for DD!

Thanks gals! No, MLH, I'm not going to get the Chinese Laundry ones. I spent a day walking around the mall with my mom and FMIL, wearing 3-inch heeled boots, and mah feet HURT the next day! Can't imagine what they would've been like after four hours of dancing. So I decided 4-inch heels were out of the question.

Metallic it is for DD! Next question: gold, actual silver, or more of a pewter/metallic grey? Hmm...

Honestly, I think a pair of black mary janes would look best on the flower girl.  Especially since the bridesmaids are wearing black.  It definitely wouldn't look out of place and most little girls wear black patent leather shoes with their pretty dresses.  Dyeing shoes for her would be unreasonable in my opinion.

Theresa I agree about dying her shoes... not up for that. I may just have to take her dress with us when we go shoe-shopping to decide...

If you do metallic with her shoes have it be the same metallic color as your jewelry. Like silver if you are wearing a silver necklace etc.  If you aren't wearing silver or gold jewelry (like if your wearing pearls or something) then just get whichever you can find for a good price and are comfortable for DD.  I agree the black would look fine but metallic may be for fun for her.
I'm thinking I am just going to have to bite the bullet and figure out how to deal with high high heels. Any ideas on how to make them not hurt as much?  I do think you found a great pair of shoes- they are so cute!

I'm actually wearing my great-grandmother's crystal - VERRRRY Old Hollywood! There isn't really any metal showing, so I'll just see what we find for a good deal. All good!

I wore 3.25" heels and my feet were fine -- except for the strap at the ankle rubbing :( So I took them off half-way through the reception and changed into metallic silver flip flops :) You could try just having a backup shoe for once your heels get too uncomfortable.
    That's Mrs.skWhitneyAmanda to you!
