Hair and Makeup

Has anyone used the Aveda Fredric's Institute for hair and makeup? The pricing is excellent, but not sure what the quality is since students are doing the work.... Any other recs?

I recommend Tamra Berry, she did my trial yesterday for my e pics, and my fiance kept saying he loved my makeup all day and he never pays attention to it usually. It lasted all day too.

I've never used them, but I would think that 1. it IS Aveda and they are good, and 2. They have instructors watching...it should be ok.

According to my hairdresser who trained there, there are some bridal parties who come out of there looking great, but some who don't because the consistency is just not there. A few words of caution, though. Since they are students, it takes a long time. A friend of mine had her bridal 'do and makeup done there and it took about 3.5 hours (she was very happy, for the record). Second, you do have to pay upfront, so if you don't like your trial, you are stuck- either losing that $ or still using them on your wedding day. Third, make sure you are guaranteed the same person on your wedding day (I feel like when I looked into it, you were not in case that person graduates or quits). GL!

I go to Aveda all the time and have seen some very pretty brides leaving. One thing to be sure of is that the same person will be doing your hair that does your trial and don't be afraid to speak up if you don't like something. The prices are great and I have not had any problems yet :o)

I also used Tamra Berry. Trial went great, and my make-up looked awsome the day of the wedding.  She is great!! and reasonably priced.

I used Aveda for my make-up when we had our engagement pics taken. A few are in my bio. I think the student did a good job, but the process is so long because they have to keep cheking in with their instructor.
