    I don't know but I know of a girl who graduated from HS in 2005 whos name was Aiden (or Aidan).  So apparently for a while!

    I'm not sure why one would take the government's encouragement for having children to mean that Australia would be willing let people name their children after swear words, though?It just seems in the US that sometimes the baby-centric culture encourages parents to do whatever they want. Babies - good. Having babies = good. Letting your kids do whatever you want = good.The US also goes to extremes sometimes with anti-censorship and free speech. Sometimes. In certain ways.

    I think in Quebec they have the thing about Baby Names too. I remember seeing on the CBC back in the 90's where the mom wanted to name her kid Ethan but it would have sounded like Eaten and they would not let her. I live in the US but we had A LOT of french canadians in my town and CBC was in the basic cable package. I have two cousins named after TV Shows. Walker (texas ranger) and Nash (bridges)

    Katie- yes Aidan is a very popular name here.  But I also work in pediatrics so I tend to see name trends first hand.  Like Ethan and Jack are huge now, as is Isabella.

    I know a 10 yr old girl and her name is Ayden... I also hate it when people try to spell common names really different.  It is confusing when people add a lot more letters then really need to be just to make it different...I also feel bad for the children involved because people will probably mis spell, and mis pronounce there names for the rest of their lives...
