  You can send them the unaltered photocopy of the license w/ the seal on it - thats what I did.. I havent gotten it back yet, but I wasnt going to send them my original just in case it got lost in the mail (yes, they said they do mail it back).

  What do you mean by the "seal on it"? Did you have to request that from the court house?

  Yes, Danielle.  The official copy with a raised seal is called a Certified Marriage Record, and it's an official copy of the original license.  There is a small fee for this and you can have one mailed to you or you can get one from the courthouse.  When I changed my name, the certified copy was sent back to me along with my new passport.

  In Chester County it was $15 for the Certified copy - I went to the court house with cash and they printed it on the spot.  You will get it back from the passport agency when you get your new passport in the mail.

  sweets if its less than a year after the passport was issued, then it's no charge.  if it's more than a year, you have to pay full price.
