Hey! DIY hydrangeas were SO easy and I think they came out beautiful! In total with ribbons and everything, I spent $85 on my bouquet + 2 bridesmaids bouquet!I ordered mine from theflowerexchange.com but I think there are some others out there even cheaper. I got 10 large flowers for $75 and they came in 2 days before the wedding. They were PERFECT. We didn't even change out the water they were in until the next day.The day before we made the bouquets. To refresh the flowers and fluff them up a bit, you just place the flower head in cold water. The stems were very long, so to cut them we just used a razor blade and cut them while under running water. Then we took 4 flowers for my bouquet (3 for theirs), held them together tightly and tied them with ribbon...just to hold them tightly together exactly how we wanted them. Then we taped the stems up with floral tape. Over the flower tape I wrapped the ribbon in my colors and secured it with straight pins and hot glue.We just kept them in vases until the wedding and they stayed perfectly. No one could even tell they were DIY! I think that since they are such large flowers and don't really require any filler or extra greenery that it was much easier to get away with DIY. Hope that helps! Feel free to ask if I left anything out!
