Has anyone had or been to a wedding at Seabra's Armory?

We are currently looking into a possible August 2010 wedding at Seabra's Armory in Perth Amboy, NJ. It is right on the water and they have a very nice second and third floor available. Since they don't specialize in weddings, I cannot seem to find a lot of wedding reviews or extensive details online. If anyone has had their wedding there or been to a wedding there, I would love to here your thoughts and feelings. I am also looking for sample pictures if you have any. Thanks!!!

Page Basert. She had her wedding there, and I believe she loved it.

Yes!  Danielle/bashert628 got married there last year & I was a knottie guest.  I believe I do have a ridiculous amount of pictures.  I thought it was a pretty cool venue - not for everyone but I like unique places. If you email me at livinlaveenaloca (at) msn.com, I will also email her to contact you with details.  I don't know if I have a secret email of hers or a one she is willing to post!

An old coworker of mine got married there a few years ago and a ton of people from work went. I heard great things about the place, the only negative was the lack of AC (I don't know if it was in general, or just wasn't working that weekend).

i have been there for a ton of stuff (portuguese people only do parties at portuguese places, dont get me started on that!) i have to say that I am not a fan...their food is not that good, during the cocktail hour, once the food ran out they didnt replenish it...the place is nice

I have never been, but I will say that I know the family who owns all of their restaurants/stores (obviously the Seabra family).  I went to high school with them, and I can say that they're an honest family to deal with, and really nice people.  That might help you with the service/working with them part. The food/what i tlooks like, etc, I can't help you with!

Thank you for your responses!  We had dinner at Seabra's Armory this weekend.  The food was good, except a little on the salty side (and I like salt on my food).  At least, that was the case for the filet mignon and  somewhat for the piella.  I was also disappointed with the deserts we ordered but they weren't any of the one's they offer for the wedding packages so it may be irrelevant. Our other concern is that the cocktail hour is mostly fish items (we love fish) but we have quite a few vegetarians attending.  We'd like a more diverse selection but when i asked, Fabio said most people don't ask for menu customizations.  I'm hesitant to ask for things they don't normally stock out of fear they won't get it rignt on the day of the wedding.  If anyone has any experience with special requests at Sebra's, please let me know. Thanks again!
