My florist canceled! :(

So I was planning on booking my moms friend as my florist. We had the budget and selection of flowers all picked out and I was just waiting to sign the contract. Ive been trying to get a hold of her for the past couple months, with no luck. Finally I asked my mom to contact her and we found out today that the reason why she has been MIA is bc she just got diagnosed with CANCER!! She is terminally ill :(. So So So sad. Please send her (((((Knottie Vibes))))) Any suggestions for a good florist? I'm trying to do the whole wedding for about $850. Possible? TIA

    Oh noo! That's awful! ((knottie vibes her way)) I hope she finds the strength to beat cancer and I really wish her the best. As for a florist rec, well mine is a bit far from you and they have great prices. So far, the only one I can think of that's not too far from you would be Flora by Fauna...She did malibu's wedding I think. I've heard great things of her, too bad she was too far from me. GL!

    Oh that's so sad for her. I hope that they caught it early!!!   No recs for ya. We didn't have much floral for our wedding - just bouquets.

    If you want to DIY, you can get stems at Costco and then do your own bouquets.

    Oh no that's terrible, hope she beats cancer *knottie vibes* her way! As for the florist I dont know what kind of arrangements you want or need. But I found a florist in the flower district that may be able to keep you under budget. Some people dont like the fact they are located in the flower district but when I saw the work they did for another knottie I was just blown this is what we are getting: -Bride Bouquet -Flower for hair -Grooms Boutinniere -Best Person Bouquet or BM -Mother (2) -Father (2) -Brother Boutonniere - Flower girl small pomanders (2) -Flower girl halos (2) Ceremony -8 medium pomander balls for down the aisle -8 shepard hooks stands (renting) LOTS OF PETALS! Reception -4 tall (3feet) Manzanitas trees -4 low centerpieces MORE PETALS TABLES ETC.. These are the flowers we are using: Roses- black magic, black bacarra, and some red roses Calla Lilies-plum, Orchids-Plum, burgundy Hydrangeas- dark red, burgundy PRICE $990 Blooming Flowers 817 S San Pedro St Ste A Los Angeles CA 90014 1-213-629-0390 HTH!!     I am so sorry to hear that. That just terrible. Well, I love my florist. I think her prices are very reasonable-Bride and Bloom Wedding Flowers. I do know that she has done weddings for under $1000 that were very pretty. (However, mine is higher than that). I know she will work with people's budgets.     Oh, how awful for your mom's friend! :(  I'd give Eddie at Commerce Flowers a try - explain the situation and the budget and see if he can help you out.  He does great work, and they're a big shop and can easily and comfortably accommodate more than one wedding in a weekend (unlike a lot of the smaller florists out there).  Good luck to you!

    acton country florist! They were super cheap!!! I got everything for $1250 (and I had a pretty big wedding- 20 centerpieices (manzanitas w/crystals and roses) and 6 bridesmaids and groomsmen, 3 flowers girls, and a bunch more). my only complaint w / them is they added a few extra flowers that we had not discussed (that i actually hadnt wanted). but no one knew the difference besides me and we got compliments on the flowers all night long.
