Good pork chop recipie?

Anybody have a good recipie? Tonight I wanted to cook up some pork chops and serve with applesauce and leftover homemade mashed potatoes. Grilling is good but it gets dark early now and J won't be home till almost 8.

Re: Good pork chop recipie?

• And why I spelled recipe "recipie" twice I have no clue.
• I don't have a specific recipe, but I love making porkchops w/baked apples.  Usually, I just go on cooks.com and find a simple recipe for it.

• I have done them in a skillet with cut up granny smiths and sauerkraut. May be overkill, though, with your applesauce. The kraut sweetens and the apples soften.

Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
• http://www.rachaelray.com/recipe.php?recipe_id=990This is the best I've ever had. The chops come out soooo tender and juicy. It's always a hit. I've started putting the apples in the blender right before serving. Without that, it's awfully chunky and I like it more like a sauce.

• My favorite pork chop recipe ever:6 Pork Chops1 tsp. Mustard1 11oz. Can of Mandarin Oranges                                    1/4 c. Ketchup3 Tbsp. Brown Sugar1 Tbsp. Vinegar1/2 tsp. Cinnamon1 tsp. Salt Trim excess fat from chops, heat chops in skillet till brown on both sides.  Drain grease.  Drain oranges for later use and reserve juice.  Mix together orange liquid, sugar, cinnamon, mustard, ketchup, vinegar, and salt.  Pour mixture over chops in skillet.   Bring mixture to a boil; reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 45 minutes, or till chops are tender.  During last 10 minutes of cooking time, add orange sections.Best served with rice.
• For a quick dinner, I take thin pork chops and marinate them in pineapple juice, soy sauce and honey.  Salt and pepper, and throw on the George Foreman for about 10 minutes.
• Those all sound awesome. Thanks, ladies!
• Bake with italian salad dressing.  Shake 'n Bake is good, too.  (really)

• Shake n Bake IS good. We just do it all the time with pork chops. So I wanted to mix it up a bit.
• Hey Scoetto, off topic, but there's a thread on Budget asking about the bride who bought a speaker system for an ipod reception.  I think they're looking for you. . . /threadjack

• Thanks, squirrly!
• Mine is easy, but delicious.Brown pork chops in a pan, with salt, pepper, and thyme, til almost cooked through, then add some white wine to deglaze the pan.  Cook for a couple minutes on both sides, then flip again and add some chicken broth, cook on both sides for a couple minutes.  When cooked through, take the pork chops out of the pan.  If you're having mashed potatoes (my fave with pork chops), you can add corn starch or flour to the stuff left in the pan to make delicious gravy.

• MMM J&K that sounds yummy!
• I like to throw on some rosemary, sage, salt and pepper, a bit of garlic powder.  Saute in a bit of olive oil.
• Not sure how much cooking time you have, but this is our favorite, the chops come out sooo tender.  I apologize in advance for the formatting, it's copy/pasted: Ingredients 6 pork chops 2 tablespoons steak seasoning 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle beer 1 (18 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce 2 onions, sliced Directions Sprinkle pork chops with steak seasoning. Brown both sides in skillet. After the pork chops have been browned, remove them from the pan. Pour into skillet one can of beer. Stir around the beer until all the particles on the sides have been incorporated. Pour in barbecue sauce and place the pork chops back into the pan. Add onions and cover. Simmer on low for 1 to 2 hours.
