The Castle - Delran

Hi, I normally lurk on the Philly board (I live in the Philly burbs, but grew up and family is in SJ). I am curious if anyone has any reviews/insights on The Castle in Delran. Any info would be appreciated!! TIA!

I liked the castle... _you get a lot of food for your price -for the price it is a very nice venue...you get to overlook the marina in the back -there are quite a few thinngs included in your package   what you may not like about it. -the location is across from the train tracks..(i never heard anything though) -the parking lot is dark -I have seen on the board that the boat owners are not that nice -the ceremony location on grounds is small-you have to bring in the alcohol (which you may or may not care about) I would say go and look at it....it really depends on what you are looking for. If you don't like them the Bradford estate (which is owned by the same people is GREAT) they have a TON of food it is in a much better location and the price is still grat...hope this helps and good luck

When I first looked at The Castle I loved how it lookeed inside and I loved the fact that it held only one reception at a time.  The food there is yummy and the packages are a great deal, especially compared to other places that offer only half the amount of food but at double the pirce! I was a little hesitant b/c of some of the things the pp mentioned-the railroad across the street and b/c you have to bring your own alcohol.  I went to a few bridal expos there, each lasting a couple of hours, and I never heard nor felt the trains across the street.  As for the alcohol, I didn't want to have to worry about it but as many people have said, you can save a bit of money by paying for it yourself as opposed to paying for it per person with your venue.   Plus, Canals can deliver the alcohol your order right to The Castle so you don't have to worry about transporting the booze! :-)I am having my reception there next month and I couldn't be happier with my decision.
