Wickliffe House

My wedding and reception are at the Wickliffe House. Has anyone had their event there that would be willing to share pictures?  I'd like ideas of how to set everything up!Thanks!

Hey, congrats!  I am getting married there next April.  If you haven't seen it all ready, they have a bunch of pics in an album at Wickliffe that have some great ideas.  Also, if you go to http://sandlapperphotography.smugmug.com/ and scroll down to the McBroom wedding (not the Oct. 2009 edit that's at the top, but the July 2008 version), there are lots of picks.  Good luck and would love to hear your reviews once you're married!

Thanks so much!!!  I loved all those pictures!  If anyone has any additional photos, I'd love to see them.  Also, my ceremony is in December, so I would love to see pics of an indoor ceremony there if anyone has any...Thanks!

I think there is a featured wedding there on theknot.com. Also, I worked there a few years ago so if you have specific questions I can share.

Hi Chelsey,You might be able to help me with this!  I am having my ceremony upstairs for about 40-50 people...what is the best way to set up the room?  I believe most people have their ceremony in the center, but I didn't love having all chairs facing the middle.  Have you ever seen people get married in just one of the upstairs rooms?   If so, what do they usually put in the other rooms?

The setup that I liked best was all the chairs facing to the right (if you're standing at the entrance to the room at the top of the steps). You would come out of the office through the connecting door (far left side of the room) and walk straight up the aisle. It might make the room seem a bit big for 40-50, but I think it looks the best. Who are you working with there? I worked with Catherine Bruce (now at the Rice Mill) and Samantha Williams. Whoever is there can probably best advise; I would just tell them your concerns and see what they think.

Hey check out Richard Bell Photography. They have a section that posts all their recent weddings at the various locations around Charleston: Here's the link to the Wickliffe house: http://charlestonwedding.com/#/the-wickliffe-house/
