Fittings

How many fittings did you have?  If you used Becky, how long did it take before your gown was 100% ready for your wedding day?  Also, when did you take your bridals? Thanks ladies!

I only had one fitting and it was a few weeks before the wedding.  I only needed a bustle and cups sewn into my dress....so it was pretty easy. I took my bridals in mid-May.  The wedding was in Sept.  I took them in May because I didn't want to take my bridals during the dead heat of summer.

I had my first fitting in mid-August, then I went back and picked my dress up/had my final fitting toward the end of September. She hemmed and bustled mine, but it had a lot of lace and beading on the hem so it was a bigger project than a typical hem.I didn't do bridals.I would say that you need to probably have your first fitting 4-8 weeks before the wedding depending on what needs done and when you need your dress for bridals.

I had my fitting in August.  I told Becky not to rush since my wedding isn't until November.  I think I got it in 2 weeks and it fit perfect.  I am trying it on again this weekend and hopefully it won't need anything else.  I am taking it to her the week of my wedding for pressing.  I'm not doing bridals.

It seems I will only have one and then the final when I pick it up.  I told her that I wasn't in a rush because I'm not doing bridals either and would like to keep it at her house for as long as possible since me and FI live together and it needs to be hung up and spread out and we don't have the room.

I got married in April and did my bridals in January.  You should also check with your photographer and see how much time they need if you are planning on having a bridal picture on display the day of your wedding.  I would say most would need at least a week or two.

So she is out of her house and does good work with a quick turn around? My dress is suppose to be in December 10th (in Kansas City) and I'm going to drive home for Christmas break.  I want to do bridals over Christmas break, so I'm talking like a week for alterations!!!  I know money talks, so I can pay more for the rush.  Also the dress doesn't have to be completely ready for the bridal portraits, like the bustle doesn't have to be done then.

She's really good on turn around.  I would call and ask her.  My dress was ready in 2 weeks but I'm sure it was done way before that because all I needed was a bustle and cups sewn in.  December might be a slow month for her, too.
