California-Inland Empire

Hello

I've been lurking for a couple of days and I just wanted to say hello to my fellow Inland Empire brides.  I am planning a Vegas wedding for October 2010, but I admit, sometimes I just want to have a surprise wedding and get it over with.  But then I read all of your posts and I realize that I want that day to be extra special and I shouldn't be in such a rush.  I hope to visit with all of you on the boards for the next 11 months : )

Welcome, I post on the IE board cause they are not only the bset but I  was born and raised here. I am having my wedding back in Cali but I live in Vegas. I actually moved out here in April to be with my FI. I am new to the area but if you need help with anything I can try to give you the best advice possible.  I am getting married in August of 2010 and we have been engaged since January and believe me it flys by so fast.

October is a popular wedding month, isn't it?  I love the fall season.  Thanks again for being so nice.  I visited some of the other boards and nice is not the word I would use to describe them. For those of your that have ties to Las Vegas, have you ever been to the Lawry's restaurant on Howard Hughes?  We are not having a traditional reception, but we needed a place where we could fit up to 150 people, and we don't want to spend a lot of money.  Lawry's has very resonable prices for their wedding meals.  We're going to make a trip out there next month to check it out.  Does anyone have any opnions on it?  Reviews?

Hi and welcome to the board! We love newbies so thanks for posting. I am an OMH that just hasnt made the transition to The Nest just yet. I still LOVE weddings and everything about them so being on here has helped with the wedding withdrawls I went through after my wedding was over. So tell us more about you and your FI like:How did he propose? How long until you could finally take your eyes off of the ring?Have you looked at venues yet?Do you have colors picked out yet?

Well, he hasn't proposed yet and I'm going crazy!  I picked out my ring about a month ago.  I've gotten him to tell me it'll happen in 2009 but that's about it.  Our 4 year first date anniversary is on 12/2 so I'm hoping it'll happen right around then.  We wanted to get engaged earlier this year but we got caught up with buying a house.  We're doing everything backwards I guess, haha.We both love Las Vegas so we are definitely going to get married there.  We love the Mandalay Bay chapels but our guest count is too large to hold the ceremony there.  We're going to visit Caesar's Palace next month and I hope it works out.Aside from buying my dress, I haven't really done any planning.  I work full time and I'm in school full time so my free time is very limited.  I'm hoping all of you can give me some guidance : )

I don't mind nosey one bit.  We're planning on inviting up to 150 people.  We thought about having an in-suite reception for moms and dads and brothers and sisters an their families, but I really want to be able to invite my extended family and friends.  We'll have a nice ceremony, a nice lunch, and then we can do Vegas at night.  I'm excited! We bought a house in Rancho Cucamonga.  The city is great, the schools are great, I can't imagine living anywhere else.Where does everyone else live?

Hi and welcome. I'm Bre. I LOVE the CP chapel (the bigger one, not the tiny one). Honestly, I put a lot of thought into possibly getting married there. However, FI wanted a big wedding so that is what we are doing.

Welcome :) Congrat's on your new home and on planing your wedding! I've never been to Lawry's but the pictures online look super nice, you'll have to let us know how it goes. I am also an OMH that never left. There are a lot of us on here, and we all definitely know what you mean about some of the other boards lack of friendliness. I saw that you already bought your dress, where did you get it and do you have photos?

Thanks for the welcome : )  I bought my dress at Alfred Angelo in Rancho.  I saw it on the manequin, tried it on, and that was it.  I don't know how to paste pictures.  Can anyone guide me through it?
