tuxedos -- opinions on men's wearhouse?

Hi girls!  I have a quick question for you all.  What has your experience been with Men's Wearhouse?

My groom went there today with 2 of his groomsmen and were appalled by their service, or lack thereof.  They waited 20 minutes before they got service, only to learn that they don't even get to try the tuxedos on.  They got measured, but they didn't pay attention tomy groom when he insisted he wasn't measured right. (He was measured to be way smaller than he is.)  Furthermore, they groomsmen are all going on an international trip soon and won't be back until days before the wedding.

Help!!  What to do what to do?  Should we try to find somewhere else?  If so, where at?  :(

I think it depends on the person, because the woman who helped us the very first time was terrible. But we've been back several times since then, because I keep changing my mind, and they've been very helpful. When we took our dads to get fitted, they measured them and had them try on jackets. Then when FI went with his groomsmen he said that they tried on shirts too. I think they know what they're doing, but I would definitely go back and ask to be re-measured if you think that it's wrong. It's better to be safe than sorry!
  • Sorry you had a frustrating time. We had some minor problems with our tux rental: during the reservations, the sales guy forgot to get us signed up for discounts, didn't take a deposit from anyone, and must have mismeasured most of the guys. When we went in two days before the wedding to pick everything up though, they were able to straighten out the payment issues and also had the tuxes ready to try on. Some didn't fit and were replaced, others got some hemming done right then. I was satisfied with that except that H's pants weren't hemmed very securely and he kicked right through the hem as he was getting dressed for the wedding. Other than that though, everything turned out fine for the wedding, even if it had been frustrating before.
  • Just like any other chain, some locations are better than others. I never trust getting measured by salespeople and not tailors, so we're going to have our guys measured at my tailor first so we know its done correctly. You may want to consider doing that.
Also check to see if there's another location nearby with better reviews online. There are quite a few Mens Warehouses in my area and one has significantly worse onlinereviews than the others.
