Married Knotties: What would you change?

Re: Married Knotties: What would you change?

  • I would have hired a different DOC.

I would have just gone over the ceremony more thoroughly with our officiant.

Other than that everything was pretty perfect :)

  • i would have asked our photographer to take more pictures of the guests. i am in love with our photos, but there isn't many of our guests.

i would have either done it right away and invited only 10/20 people (like i wanted) or waited another year so we wouldn't have been so strapped financially to have the 60 people DH wanted.

i would have decorated all the tables a bit more. i wanted simple, but i'm afraid it was plain.

i love my dress, but it definitely didn't fit me perfectly. i would have liked to have had more time to deal with that issue.

    #1 THING I WOULD CHANGE
our engagement pictures were 2 weeks prior to our wedding and the spray tan woman i used during my trail was unavailable for our pics so i went to a different woman who turned me into snooki. two weeks later for my wedding i had awful streaked blotchy skin. i was horrified and had to wear a ton of makeup on my arms and legs. you can see it in some of the pics.

  • I think I would have had a slightly longer engagement. We got married in July because we thought we'd be moving right away after the wedding when it turns out we probably had an extra year. So I think ideally we would have chosen a September or October wedding. A lot of our first choice vendors were already booked when we called them in June or July 2009 for our July 2010 wedding. We still got a lot of good vendors but we had to make decisions like IMMEDIATELY before the best vendors were all booked.

I think I would have worn a longer veil, I don't like the way my shorter one looks in pictures.

And if I had an unlimited budget I would have changed a bunch of things, haha.

  • H would have gotten a different Tux and made sure that his GM had the same cuff length shirts.

We would have a different photographer. He kept showing us pictures that he'd taken during the ceremony/ reception, including showing H a picture of me right before the ceremony started. H had been trying to not see the dress or me before the ceremony.

I would have gotten a limo or two, we had a hard time wrangling people for pictures.

    I would have worn spanx.

  • I have to say the day was pretty close to perfect. But the few things that I can think of are:

    * I would have asked for more pics by myself after I put my dress on. I also would have made sure that my lady in waiting took more pics of me and H with my camera.

    * I would have done a candy bar. Our colors were burnt orange and chocolate. I hate orange candy. I now know that I could have done any candy, but oh well. I gave a bunch of vases to a gf who is doing one, so I can live through her.

    * I would have made the dj remember that we were NOT doing a garter toss. Dummy!
And the whole time, my future husband was in the room...... image image

Same here, which sucks because she was great for our e-pic shoot. I don't think weddings were really her thing as much as she said they were. I would also have gotten a different florist who wasn't BSC, and a different DJ who was competent and didn't lose all of our music requests prior to the wedding without telling us.

Also, I would have looked harder for an affordable dress similar to mine, but more flattering. And/or I would not have had DB alter it!

It was a most wonderful day though. :)
