A Paris themed wedding!

Anyone got any ideas for a Parisian Style wedding? I've got eiffel tower vases, fleur di leurs invitations, and little rose topiaries on the cocktail tables. I'd love to find (cheap) mini eiffel tower place card holders, too!Taking fresh ideas! Thanks!

    As I said to the hockey themed bride below, I think what you have is fine.  But I wouldn't go overboard.  A little theme goes a long, long way.If you overdo it, it will become kitchy instead of elegant.

    hum, good point. I've only bought the tower centerpieces so far. I could skip out on the fleur de li invitations and mini eiffel towers. Instead, maybe I should just incorporate my colors more such as organza table runners and then just add some votive candles and rose petals. Anyway, thanks for the outside perspective. lol!

    What colours are you using? Baby pink and black screams parisienne chic to me.I think you are fine to keep the fleur de lis invites.  You could serve Champagne, mini filled croissants as canapes (cheese & ham), patisseries, Pomme frite canapes.  Use Paris suburbs or land marks as table names?Birdcage veils and short lace/satin gloves is also quite parisienne.Less is definitely more, look for little touches as opposed to big statements.

    I'm alittle torn between the modern take on nature design and the fleur di lis.My colors are Blush pink and Clover green, definitely. We plan to have tall eiffel tower vases filled with a bouquet of white asian lilies, pink roses, and white star-like flowers.My card, gift, and cake table will have white and rose topiaries and my white chairs (for the ceremony) will have pink and white Rose, green hydrangea pomanders. OH, and I have a birdcage for a card box! We're buying as much as possible from E-Bay. I just think anything "paris" or "nature" style will work for my wedding. I'm trying to find elegant, but contemporary invitations that follow that design style. OH, thank you for the link! I'll check into it.  And thank you everyone for your HELP! :o)

    I think what you have is good, as it's been said: a little goes a long way w/themes. The fleur di leurs shouldn't be a concern, I find it to be rather "wedding-ish", so it's not "overkill". Paris is home to quite a few lovely museums that house great works of art (Van Gogh, Monet, etc). Maybe instead of the Eiffel Tower card holders, you could find a way to use a favorite piece of art with your place cards. Or perhaps keep the place cards generic, and then maybe incorporate the artwork into the decor somehow.

    yeah, well while I'm spilling my wedding ideas on the table. I need fresh ideas for place card/table card, too.We are serving au hors with cocktails and I was  thinkin' of brie and fruit. With all the Internet research I've been conducting, I see a lot of the baby pink and black, but I would like to steer clear of it. Hm, what else. Oh, I totally agree with trix, I don't want the people to walk into my wedding and do an eye roll. lol, I want the male guests to feel like they can get into it, too. If anyone finds fleur de lis invites in blush pink and clover green, can you please send the link my way?Thank you again, everyone. :o)

    I just have to get this out. I've found planning my wedding with the venue has been a nightmare! They are the most unhelpful staff I've worked with and I am starting to get a little worried for the wedding day. Day one when my fiance and I walked into their office, the "event coordinator" seemed as though we were intruding on her time. My FH was set on having the event in this hall, so we went ahead and reserved our wedding date. Second time: the event coordinator seemed to patronize our lack of organization and I felt, although FH said it's "just you" that her comments were suggesting that the marriage wouldn't last long. I believe the venue staff is totally new and have no idea what they're doing. But like it or not, it's part of the service industry and customer service goes a long way!
