  Delphinium come in a dark blue, almost royal.

  I agree. Delphiniums are lovely — a stalk flower, like foxgloves.  My colours are yellow and blue and we're thinking gerbera daisies and forget-me-nots. ^_^

  There are very few blue flowers in nature that are suitable for bouquets. Most royal blue flowers I ever saw were unnatural looking silk flowers Except maybe the pale blue hydrangeas, or delphiniums. Look on The Knot's inspirations boards for flowers, under blue. There aren't many compared to all the other colors. Which is why most brides using blue go with other colors for flowers.
