Did you end up putting the cross streets for the Chapel on your invitations? I put them in, but it looks weird -- I'm afraid it looks too informal. I don't want people to be lost, but I'm also putting detailed info on our website.

    On the main invitation I put this (all caps - copying and pasting here): chapel of saint thomas aquinasuniversity of saint thomas2115 summit avenuesaint paul, minnesota 55105I didn't like the cross street thing so I didn't even try it.  I did try taking out 2115 Summit for my 2nd revision but I didn't like that either.  I asked my friend what she did for her wedding a couple years ago and she did the full address so I figured it would be fine.  I just made sure to add St. Thomas so people would know it was the campus not just some random church.  I wrote pretty specific directions on the Directions insert.  I tried pasting it here but it got all big and messed up so I can email you the entire pdf if you want to see.  I also put a very detailed map on the back of the directions card too, if people still needed help.  I think I made it pretty idiot proof.  If people are still confused, I can't help them!Also I have extremely detailed directions, maps, parking information, etc on the wedding website, so if people are inclined to check out the website they will get even more information that couldn't possibly fit on the invitation.Let me know if you want the pdf!

    I don't know if I wrote that clearly.  I asked my friend - who I think you know by the way, she said she ran into you at Bonfire the other week.  Meghan.  :)  She said she put 2115 summit ave, etc and nobody got lost or confused that she knows of.  I just did what looked best and made the most sense to me.  I think people will be able to figure it out.  Also if you mapquest or googlemaps 2115 Summit, it doesn't go specifically to 2115 summit avenue, it highlights the entire St. Thomas campus block (cretin to cleveland, selby to summit).

    Our directions card is pretty simple:From I-94, exit at Cretin-Vandalia. Turn south onto Cretin Avenue. Follow approximately half a mile to Selby Avenue and turn left. Parking is available in lots accessible via Selby Avenue.Did you include more than that? I'm hoping that people will look at the campus maps on our website ahead of time and figure out where it is.

    Your directions are pretty similar to mine.  It sounds fine. Are you doing a map?  Or just the one on the website? I put a map that shows the campus block, has a little icon for the church, parking symbols, obviously street names, etc.On my wedding website I put links to the maps on the UST website.  I just don't know how many people realistically are going to take the time to look at the website.  Therefore I wanted to do a decent map on the invitation.But my mom had a huge pile of invitations she's saved throughout the years and a bunch of them didn't have maps, just written directions.  So it's not required.  I think people will figure it out once they get there.

    Honestly, if our invitations were a DIY project, I'd definitely include a map. But our invitations are with a stationery company and aren't as flexible with the design stuff. I could always have a map designed, and then print it on gold cardstock, but I'm honestly a little too anal -- I wouldn't be happy unless the cardstock EXACTLY matched the gold color, texture, and weight... and our invitations are printed with thermography, so the map cards would have to match those. Pain in the butt -- no thanks :)  We have tons of OOT guests, so I'll just make sure to include awesome directions and a map in their OOT bags :)

    I understand.  I would want it to match too.  Just include the map with our OOT stuff, like you said.  That should be fine. Or on the directions insert, at the botton you could say, "for more detailed directions" or "for more detailed parking information, please visit www .  etc etc"Just an idea.  I'm sure however you do it will be fine.  As long as you give decent directions people will figure it out.  After all yours is in the summer, right?  People can walk around and worst case scenario ask someone if they are confused.Mine is obviously winter and I wanted to be clear as possible - didn't want them to get lost or have to walk around in a blizzard!
