What should the guest do while were taking pics?

I need ideas. Were not having alcohol at our wedding reception and our wedding and reception is in one place. I'm trying to decide what to have the guest do while were taking pics. My FI wants them to start eating dinner but I thought it would be better for us to wait to have dinner until we get done. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

    This is what cocktail hour is for.  If you aren't serving drinks, make it mocktail hour.  Serve n/a bevs and apps and let people mingle for an hour.

    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    If you don't want to have a cocktail hour (or h'orderves) consider taking pictures beforehand and then just going straight from the ceremony to the reception so you don't leave guests waiting with nothing to do/eat/drink.

    We're doing the bulk of our pictures beforehand, but we're doing the formal family shots immediately after the ceremony.  We'll have some snack trays around and hopefully the bar will be open right away, and then we'll bring out the heavy apps for the reception food once we're done.Definitely give them something to eat, even if it's only cheese and crackers.  They'll only get cranky if they have to wait around without something to eat or drink.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
