SO... where is everybody getting their wedding gowns from?

I find them to be SO expensive in bridal salons! My budget is 1k max. I tried looking for dresses from Ebay but I'm a little hesitant to buy from there. So girls, what's your game plan re: gowns? Thanks!

I got my dress at Uniquely Bridal in Rancho Cucamonga for about $1,400 with tax and everything and they have gowns under 1,000 too. I got a Maggie Sottero-Coco PIB

I got mine at Glamour Closet.  It is a floor sample, and I had to have it altered to fit me(so I am still waiting to find out what that will cost.  I paid 1201.92 with taxes, I am very happy with my purchase.Pebbles is also a good place to go, I would have gotten my dress there but the one I have now beat out all the other gowns I tried on.Don't get frustrated. The right gown is out there.

I got mine at Camarillo Bridal and it was $850.  They don't carry anything over $2,000!

Kay's Bridal in Simi Valley is having a sale (40 to 60% off) on their sample gowns on 11-14 & 11-15. I got an email today. I know they sell Casablanca, Maggie Sortero to name a few.

I'm not finding it either.... went to Pebbles felt rushed out the door. GOnna go to Mon AMie in Newport Beach apparently over priced but I want to try on more dresses so I can narrow it down.

Went to Davids.... my dress was discontinued (they were clearing out their inventory of gowns with sleeves. $100...the veil, bra and petticoat together cost more than the dress.

I'm really lucky. I bought my dress on ebay without ever trying on a single wedding dress or even seeing this dress in person. When the dress arrived I was keeping my fingers crossed that I would LOVE it and that it would FIT! Thank my lucky stars, it did! I got it new, with tags from ebay store Pink Ribbon Bridals. I would definitely do it again, but maybe I would go to a salon and try it on first just to be sure. Again, I was really lucky :p

Ditto Erika, I also like Mariposa Bridal in Anaheim and Mary Me Bridal in Orange. I went to several shops in OC and LA but these had a good selection, different price points (from like $600-$3-4K) and really good customer service. I ended up buying mine at Mariposa.

I liked the style of a lot of Alfred Angelo dresses, so I went there. I spent a little more than I wanted to, but I'm also getting my bra, veil and crinoline through them, and with tax it's all about $1200. They gave me some kind of discount (I think the dress alone was originally $1100 and they knocked it down to $850). It's also the first place I'll go BM dress shopping and we'll get a discount on those too. Definitely try dresses on in person. You never know what will look good on you. I'd be hesitant about buying online, even if I had tried the dress on.

I ordered my dress online from Jay's Bridal. I actually went to their store when I was in FL and tried on dresses. I found my Casablanca dress and they suggested that I order online since I was out in Cali. They have great prices (they're like Pearls Place or RK Bridal). I recommend going on their site and seeing if a dress you like on there is a better price (and it usually is).

Thanks everyone for the input! Most of you recommended Peddbles and Cruz's, so I'll definitely check those out! I'm local to Mariposa and Mary Me so for sure I'll be headed over there soon. :) I found some stuff I like online but I'm worried they might be too cheap looking? I found some that cost around 200 dollars; I'm worried that I'm paying so much more for the invites! That was SUCH a great deal on a wedding gown from David's! Thanks for sharing!

I went to five different shops, and ended up finding THE dress at Marylinn's in Pasadena. I almost didn't go there b/c I thought it would be too expensive, but they had a sale. Got it for $750, which was less expensive than some I was looking at at David's Bridal or Alfred Angelo.

I went to Castle for Brides in Huntington Beach. They have recently been bought by new owners and are planning to have some big sales in the next few weeks. Really friendly bridal consultants and beautiful dresses. I highly reccomend them.
