  • I don't blame you for being worried. From what I understand, they DO try to get at your money. Sorry, I have no real suggestions. :-(

  • Scientology...UHHH Im not knocking it everyone has their right to believe what ever they want to believe but i worked for an orthodontist for almost 2 years that was completely sucked into this religion...Every tuesday at the office we wouldnt have patients all day just so we could do these "courses" and it was all scientology practices...Let me tell you they were weird...i soon figured out that if i would tell the "course teacher" i had a headache i could get out of doing "courses" and go outside on the picnic table and look at the trees :-) But the Dr. had to give a certain amount of money each money to "stay" in this religion...and if he was late on a payment they would call the office non stop and request payment...The Dr. paid them 50K a month! Its just a crazy religion...from what the Dr. would tell us staff that if you didnt have money you werent welcomed into the religion i dont know how true that is but he certainly paid his fair share!
  • As with most cults.. they cater to the vulnerable and emotionally lost.Scientology was created by a science fiction writer who said he was going to make a religion and see if he could get people to follow it. the creator of this religion,  L. Ron Hubbard, said...“If you want to make a little money, write a book. If you want to make a lot of money, create a religion.”He made no secret of his intentions in the beginning, but his words got lost and covered up as his "church" raked the money in.Within the church you have to complete levels.. completing a level is considered a great achievement. But you can't complete a level until you pay money to the church. Paying money to your church isn't a newfangled notion.. but the exorbitant costs are alarming. And as you complete each level, they request more and more money. Once you reach a certain level, they tell you about Xenu. This is why not much is known about Xenu, since only the few who have achieved ths high level is made to know about this. The story is... years ago, Xenu (or Xemu), a ruler from another planet brought beings from his own planet to Earth, dropped them into volcanoes and set them on fire. The ghosts of these aliens exist today.Someday they hoped to be rescued and we'll all live happily ever after. Or something like that. Here, a pretty basic checklist of things most cults have...http://www.csj.org/infoserv_cult101/checklis.htmWhen fillig that out for Scientology, all of those items get checked.Granted a few religions get checks, too. o.O

  • I agree with the other posts about supporting her and not attacking anything because it'll just push her away. As far as the money goes, can you research some ways to invest it so she feels it's along the lines of what she wants to believe?  I'm not even sure if I'm expressing what I want to say properly, but if the money is put away, then they can't get it from her and they might lose interest in her. GL!!! I hope it all works out!
