Thank you ladies! I think I am going to try the plated option although I do love both. My rehearsal dinner will be buffet style (FMIL is cooking/catering-Kenyan food) so it may be good to change it up and do something different. I pray to God our crowd will respond well and that everything goes well because it is not what is usually done in our circles.

    Seated Dinner.

The last few weddings I went to had buffet style and it just didnt go over to well. The lines were long and trying to balance plates while walking in heels and trying to avoid running into other guests was not fun at all.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Seated Dinner vs. Buffet : The getting the food at the same time is a valid point as well... FI keeps referring to a buffet as a feeding trough (although we both love them... ) I think he is working really hard to convince me...LOL

Lol. I've been to weddigns that had buffets and ones that were sit down and I personally liked getting my food the same time as everyone else. When I was at a buffet..I felt so bad for the people who had to get their food last. :(

Im having buffet only because of budget. If we were having fewer guests like 50 or 60 instead of 140+ then I would do plated because that's what I really wanted.

If the budget allowed I would've preferred seated; unfortunately that wasn't the case so we had a buffet. However, I spent a significant amount of time organizing how I wanted to buffet to go to minimize lines, etc. Actually everyone was served much quicker than anticipated, so buffets can work if that's only what your budget calls for.
