Brownies! If we did cake, I'd want something light and fruity and maybe chocolate for the guests.

We had four tiers, three of which we served at the reception.  They were a dark chocolate cake with a whipped chocolate ganache filling and a vanilla italian meringue buttercream frosting; a lemon cake brushed with lemon syrup, with a raspberry mousse filling and a lemon italian meringue buttercream frosting; and a sour cream spice cake with pecans and a sour cream filling and frosting.  The top tier was a traditional British rich dark fruitcake with marzipan and royal icing, but saved that for our anniversary cake.I liked the idea of having several very different flavors to suit different tastes, and was very happy with the selection I came up with.  Judging by how much of the cake got eaten, our guests were pretty pleased with it too.  The chocolate was the most popular but everyone who tried the lemon-raspberry raved about it.

We had lemon cake with vanilla swiss meringue, vanilla butter cake filled with strawberry swiss meringue, and vanilla butter cake filled with dulce de leche--everything was covered in vanilla swiss meringue.

I made our wedding cake. The bottom tier was Belgian chocolate truffle. Middle was orange-almond sponge cake with orange blossom-Grand Marnier Italian meringue buttercream. Top was buttermilk spice cake with the same buttercream. Covered with orange blossom flavored fondant (homemade). Decorations were white gumpaste roses and Grecian urns. I was going for the Wedgewood Jasperware look.

Why don't you do yellow cake with alternating filling flavors of raspberry and coconut.  I think those flavors would work really well together! We're doing different flavors for our cake, but it's because they don't "go" with each other very well.  The top and bottom layer are going to be carrot cake with cream cheese filling (groom's choice).  The two middle layers are going to be hazelnut sponge cake with chocolate mousse filling (my choice).  Both flavors will be served as a half slice on the same plate so that people can have a little of each.  Good luck with your cake!

Our cake will be 5 tiers and rotate our two flavors. One, vanilla bean cake with rasberry filling and two, chocolate truffle cake with rasberry filling. I can't help it - I liked the rasberry filling!

We are doing a simple 2 tier cake for us and the bridal party. Which has to have one tier that has no milk or milk by products in it. (My FI and one bridesmaid has allergies) so we are doing a special layer for them, and then the other layer will be a replica of the Chocolate Explosion Cake from Boston Pizza (or as close as possible) that my friend can get. It is basically cheese cake wrapped in chocolate mousse and chocolate cake base. For the guests there will be just a simple chocolate or white choice.

Mmmmm, this post is making me hungry!  We have a 4 layer cake, the bottom and top layers (we are not saving the top layer) will be a white cake with bavarian cream and fresh strawberries.  The middle 2 layers will be Red Velvet with cream cheese filling.  I can't wait!

We are having a four-tiered cake.  The layers, from top to bottom, are as follows:  Butter pound cake (tastes like yellow cake, but moister) with vanilla buttercream filling and frosting.  Chocolate cake with ganache filling and light chocolate buttercream frosting.  Red Velvet cake with mint filling and vanilla buttercream frosting.  Butter pound cake with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting.  And I am absolutely planning to sample EVERY flavor!!!

We're doing a 3 tier and not saving the top. Top: Strawberry marble cake with fresh strawberries and a french vanilla mousse in the center Middle: White cake drizzles with Ammaretto layered with cannoli cream (it was supposed to have chocolate chips in the cannoli cream but my FI is allergic so we are skipping them and adding toasted almonds) Bottom: Sweet potato cake (so good, if your bakery has one try it!) layered with white chocolate mousse and caramel

We did a cupcake cake with each tier having a different flavor. Top was a chocolate round for us to cut, then chocolate, red velvet, chocolate, spice and banana. Since we had a fall wedding, we wanted to incorporate fall colors into our cake!

We're having a vanilla almond cake with raspberry filling (and buttercream frosting, very light). For all you Bay Area brides, Katrina Rozelle is AMAZING. They're located in Oakland and Alamo. My mom actually had the same cake at her wedding (to my stepdad) and my sister and I have been dying to taste more since we were little. The fiance and I confirmed this at our tasting. You know it's good cake when you're full and high on sugar and it still tastes amazing.

We went for a different flavor on each tier.  Bottom Tier: Lemon Ginger Parfait2nd Tier:  Chocolate with Chocolate Ganache3rd Tier:  Pink Champagne Cake with rasberry and vanilla buttercreamTop Tier: Marble Tiramisu.Cake was more expensive because of the different flavors, but since it's already paid for I am very excited to see how it turns out.

My husband and I just got married on November 7th. We spoiled our guests with a very special cake! The first layer was cheesecake with a graham cracker crust then cream cheese frosting with the next layer being a moist chocolate cake. It was awesome and everyone loved it!!

You should ask your baker for samples.  We absolutely love a white chocolate raspberry swirl cake that we tried and I would never have picked that flavor off the list before tasting it.
