  Thanks for posting this... We just bought a house last weekend and FIL's are buying us a fridge of our choice as a housewarming gift but there are soo many options.. I like the ones with the freezer below but FI doesnt.. he likes the side by side.. I dont. All we know is that we want one with an ice & water dispenser.

  I want one with a bottom freezer, I've heard (and had) too many complaints about not being able to fit things in the freezer- ex: turkey for the upcoming thanksgiving!

  We bought our house last year, and it came with a Kenmore Elite Black Refigerator.  It has French doors and the freezer is on the bottom.  I love the french doors and the pull-out drawers in the freezer.  Good luck!

  In my experience, I find the side-by-side fridge and freezer to be difficult to fit things into.  I prefer the over/under approach.Let me just say I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with a strong opinion about my fridge!

  When my parents redid their kitchen a couple of years ago they bought a side-by-side fridge and we ended up keeping our old fridge (the one with a freezer on top) and putting it in the basement because there is so much less space in the new one.  I guess that choice would really depend on your lifestyle though.

  Thanks, ladies! We are going with a bottom freezer (FI is getting it tomorrow morning while I'm in class), and hopefully whirlpool. He's going to go and see where and on what he can get the best deal. I get to come home on Saturday night to a fridge! I call that a win
