Diagnose me.

I feel awful. Since about 3:00 my stomach has been full of an awful pain. Whenever I am walking, standing, or stretched out it hurts and makes me nauseous. But when I am in a fetal position, or just have my legs bent while sitting, I feel fine...well much much better. I ate a bagel with butter and chai tea for breakfast.. and funion ring chips for snack.  Any ways to make bad bad stomach pains to feel better?

Re: Diagnose me.

  • Can you be more specific than "stomach" Upper, lower, left, right?
  • Is that all you ate today?

  • Chamomile tea can help...feel better!

  • Have you pooped yet? Tried to fart? Sometimes when it's that kind of pain it helps.

  • I am a fan of the heating pack for any ailments. However if you've been in stomach pain for the last 6 hours and there's no immediate culprit (intensive ab workout, period cramps) you might want to see a doctor in case something isn't right in there.
  • upper..I also had one bite of a cinnamon roll. I ate more aroudn 6 but hte pain has been since 3

  • You might have something serious going on. 6 hrs. of pain= not good.

  • Sounds like a flu bug (not THE flu) that I had a couple months ago. The pain started across the upper, moved down the right side a bit, and then things got ugly. But I'm not a doctor. I would go see one if it still hurts in the AM, or sooner if the pain gets worse.
  • Okay if you are on your period do you think it might be cramps? I get very queezy when I am on mine, not to mention the serious pain.

  • too high to be cramps but who knows maybe. maybe tmi, but its very heavy this month.

  • I've never heard of cramps that high up
  • I stand by my suggestion to see the doctor in the AM. Also eat bland. the BRAT diet would be good.
  • Hmmm I missed the upper post. IDK, then.

  • I always get cramps that high up during my period.  Sometimes they get so bad I can't stretch out or stand up straight at all.  A heating pad always help me.I hope you start to feel better soon!
  • Galbladder? That's usually what it is with me. Is it like under your ribs-ish?
    image
  • Buh, my gallbladder is always messed up. They wanted to take it out and I'm on the fence. If it was that though, you would feel it no matter what position you were in and it would be on the right side.
  • When I get bad cramps they generally go from my ribs all the way to my knees, so it could be that. Throw a heat pack on there and if it doesn't let up by tomorrow see a doctor.I spent the first day of my period curled up in fetal position on the couch almost in tears last month. Heating pads are amazing, so are cats.
  • Its not isolated to one small area. its the whole upper area. I think I'll just try to sleep and  hopefully it will be gone in the am.

  • If you have them, take a gas-x, see if that helps. could be a gas bubble. i get them occasionally, and they feel similar. hurts to take a deep breath. but, if its still there in the am, call the doc. and you definitely need to eat something else, even though you don't feel like it. try some warm beverage like weak tea.

  • Do you get burpy after eating?  It sounds somewhat like after I was diagnosed with an ulcer.  Try an acid reducer and some crackers.

  • maybe tmi- but i just farted and it made my tummy feel more upset.. is this a good sign that its digestive or gas related?

  • I'd honestly try eating something, and I get really gassy/achy all over/stomach pain/diarrhea (sorry for the TMI) with my period sometimes. PP mentioned the BRAT diet - good place to start, but even some toast now. If what you mentioned was all you've had today, your belly could be rebelling, especially if you've taken advil for cramps.
