bridesmaids shoes

Are your bridesmaids wearing matching shoes?  How long are their dresses?  How did you go about picking the shoes if so?  What about jewelry?

Re: bridesmaids shoes

Shoes and jewelry were completely up to them. I wanted them to be as comfortable as possible and realistically, I promise you, no one will notice what their shoes look like. I know some girls have given their BMs jewelry as a gift with the expectation that they would wear them on the wedding day. But for me, it was one less thing to worry about.

Our BMs are not wearing matching shoes. They are wearing tea length dresses. I asked them to wear black shoes; I know every girl has a pair! I made their jewelry as a part of their BM gifts.

i was specific about them wearing black satin d'orsays but the brand and heel height was up to them. their dresses were knee length so i didn't want anything strappy on their feet breaking up the leg line in photos. for jewelry, i was in china for work and designed and commissioned their necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. since they were black tahitian pearls, they also made a really nice gift.

For shoes I just had all the girls wear the same color (black) but could choose any style except pointy-toed. As far as jewelry, I am letting them just wear whatever they want as long as its not too flashy and all the same metal :) I know alot of girls give their BMs jewelry the day of to wear... HTH :)

I am letting them wear any strappy shoe in the color i decide ( havent decided yet). Their dresses will be long so I will hardly see them.

My MOH's will purposefully wear different coloured shoes. They're wearing black cocktail dresses, and they're going to pick a bright colour for sashes/pashminas and shoes, and then whatever jewelry they want. They decided they both wanted to wear the same dress, so their colour will individualise it.

Further question, I was thinking of having them wear silver strappy shoes with a lavender long dress.  They are going to wear silver jewelry.  I don't know if white would do well because it gets dirty so fast and black seems a little dark for pastel dresses in summer.  What do you think?

I think silver is a good color. I had my girls chose their own shows they just had to be gold but they were wearing long dresses too and no one really noticed their shoes. It was good they chose their own shoes because it ment that 2 of them didn't have to have their dress hemmed they just wore extra tall shoes.

Their dresses are long and I told the girls to wear silver shoes. Most of them had silver shoes to begin with and there was no sense in them purchasing shoes to wear when you won't see them anyway. Their jewelry is part of their gift, so they will have matching jewelry.

My sister and my cousin both had white shoes they had worn before. They work perfectly with their dresses and my other bridesmaid likes them so she is going to buy a pair(less than $20) I foudn jewelry for them over the weekend so I am gifting it to them(blue pearls with matching earrings) Way easier than I thought it would be. Their dresses are short so I really "wanted" them to have matching shoes but I wouldn't have made a fuss if they had decided on different shoes as long as they were all the same color. We decided on white because of the white sash on their dresses.(it was that or silver)

I gave parameters for shoes and jewelry but I didn't choose for them. I asked that they wear formal white or gold shoes (their dresses were floor length) and pearl jewelry. It worked out, without planning two girls wore white shoes, two wore gold and everybody's pearls were unique to her own style. I also let them pick their own updo. I liked the final look of everybody dressed similarly but nobody was the same -- each individual personality came through in what they picked.

The BM dresses are tea-length- I just picked silver, strappy shoes for them...they can def. wear them again sometime and I found them online for only $34. As for jewelry, I bought them all matching sets- I'm going to use that as part of their gift from me.
