Newport Rehearsal Dinner ideas (buffet or family style is preferred)

Hi girls,Any suggestions about fun restaurants for rehearsal dinners in Newport? I'm looking for something that can be done buffet or family style or something that's a little more affordable than the usual sit down wedding-style rehearsal dinner. Let me know!Emily

We are having ours at the Atlantic Beach Club in Middletown down on the beach. They offer a lot of different options including sit down dinners, buffet, and clambakes. Another place that we looked into was the Gaslamp which is in downtown Newport. The prices were very reasonable and you get the whole upstairs to yourself. I liked the Gaslamp because it is right next to a bunch of bars which I thought would be convenient for people who wanted to go out afterwards.

I second the Atlantic Beach Club- this is where we are having ours, and we are doing a New England Lobster Bake, but like pp said, they have other menu options as well. They are located right on the beach, and prices are very reasonable.HTH !!

We went to a rehearsal dinner at Sardellas in April.  The food was great and it was served family style.  We were in the private room upstairs.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Sardella's in the room upstairs. I cannot recommend them enough. Our experience was wonderful. The food and service were excellent. We did a Tuscan family style for dinner.

We are having ours at Benjamin's upstairs in their 'function room', which is actually a beautiful room with stained glass windows, an oak bar, and great food.  It  It is MUCH less expensive than the places around.  Ask for Paul or John and told them Sascha, Dec. 19th bride, recommended it to you.  They are SO nice, it's a small place, only seats max 45 up there, but amazing.  It's on Thames Street, so right on the main drag so if anyone wants to go out afterwards, you can!  :)
