NEED DJ HELP

Does anyone know of an inexpensive but good DJ? Seems like everyone wants to charge around $1000 which is just too much for me.

Jay Edwards! He does charge $950 for 4 hrs. but he'll knock off $100 if you tell him you heard about him on TK or that you listen to MIX 105.1. Don't know if that puts him more within your range or not, but he's so fun. :)

I second Jay Edwards. If you're worried about the money aspect of it, I suggest the use of an IPod. I know Sarahsmile used one at her wedding and it worked out well.

FI and I have been kicking around the idea of an iPod for the reception lately... for those who've done it/been to a wedding where it was done, how was the dance atmosphere? Did you have someone act as a dj/emcee for you, and how did that work out?

We're planning on an Ipod reception as well because we're on a tight budget and thought it would be an easy part to compromise on (instead of food, etc). Just as long as you can figure out a good system to keep the party going! =)

Esolis Entertainment gave me a great deal that was way under $1000 for 5 hours of music including lights, mics, and crowd interaction. Be up front about your budget regardless of who you go with. I've found that vendors respond better when you don't try to fake the funk :)

My DJ, Penny Taylor, was AMAZING. Her price was in the $500-$600 range but that included ceremony music and two set ups (Inside and Outside for ceremony and reception) I worked with her on the playlist but the music she added in addition to my requests kept the dance floor full all night long. One of my most affordable vendors but also one of my favorites. Her website is www.djgirl.com.Good Luck.(If you have any other questions- ucftabby at yahoo
