B&M Monday!

Re: B&M Monday!

I'm finding myself increasing needing the weekends to arrive sooner and last longer.  Even though I love my job and it hasn't been very stressful lately, I still feel like I need time off.  Who knows if Thanksgiving will feel like enough of a break, so I'm already counting down to Christmas (even if that's got its own associated drama).

We had to move seats in our office, and I got downgraded to a small desk.  Not very happy about it, but now I don't feel as bad when I take my boss up on the offer to work remotely.

Thanks  Tiffany and Terrinski! He will sleep on whatever so that rules out that! he told me earlier to tell my chiro that he will sleep on rocks so I can get whatever I need LOL he's so sweet. I was just trying to be nice because I know he likes it firmer than I do but he doesn't complain.Macy's is having a Veteran's Day sale! We will have to go check them out this weekend too. Thanks!

Ugh...end of the year reviews are coming up.  After my run-in with my OM last week, I'm a little worried.  I feel like she's pushing me to quit because she knows that I'd rather be teaching...but no one is hiring subs at this time and I'd much rather just stick to what I know and have health insurance, than quit and not have a backup plan.  Plus, having this house payment makes me even more nervous.  I honestly don't know what more she expects of me or from a receptionist...I come in early, do my job, help others, and am dependable.  I just hate these reviews.  They just get my stomach in knots for weeks.

Thanks, girls, for the positive thoughts.  I try not to think about them too much and I've tried really hard not to let their ignoring my existence get to me.  Thankfully, my family will be there for Wednesday and Thursday next week and they go home on Saturday.

Sams and Costco have mattresses as well, I have slept on a sleep number and temper-pedic but I think our really nice Serta is awesome! Temper-pedic I got too hot on and I really didn't notice a huge difference on the sleep number. Thanks ladies, I hope my week can match up to my amazing weekend and I will have bridal pictures up ASAP, I need to post pics of my bouquet, I bought flowers from central market, spent about $30 and the bouquet turned out A-MAY-ZING if I must say so myself :)

Thanksgiving is coming and I'm getting myself all worked up about his parents coming. I know that they're coming for an inspection and that most of what I have done will not be appreciated but it's still a little upsetting. Okay, Julie--we need to play a little game called MIL Bingo--I've seen it done on another board and not only was it hilarious, it helped her take the criticism in stride. This is how it works:1. You make a list of every possible thing you expect her to do while she visits. For example: "She will question our purchase of a fridge" or "She will make an insulting comment about my decorating"The more specific the better. Compile the whole list and post it here for us on the Knot.2. When the actual visit comes, you get to assign yourself a point whenever she does something on the list. If she doesn't do it at all, it is 0 points. If she actually does something nice related to the original complaint (like compliments your decorating), you get -1 point. Then when she does something obnoxious, you get to run back to your room and record a point--takes the edge off!3. You report back to us with the final point total and we all enjoy the ensuing hilarity :)

Brilliant! I forgot, my other B&M is that today is FI's birthday and we're apart :( And we'll be apart on my birthday, which is in a couple of weeks.  We have spent every birthday together since we met (the last four!), so it's kinda sad. I'm so glad next week is Thanksgiving!

Example from this other lady's "Bingo Card"--she really knew her MIL well... - She will insist that we do not need child care when I return to work. In fact, she will suggest that I do not return to work notwithstanding that my work pays our bills.- She will remind us that our marriage and or baby were badly timed.- She will repeatedly tell us that she wants to do something financially important for the baby but will balk at the idea of starting a college savings plan.- No matter what I cook, she'll hate it.- She will change hotel rooms at least twice.- She will insist that we name the baby after her late mother or at least not name him anything "weird". Any name other than Stuart will qualify as weird.- She will ask which furnishings/paintings belong to me and which belong to the landlord. She will hate all the paintings that belong to us but will love the disgusting faux painting on the kitchen walls which I think looks like oxidizing copper and regarding which many neighbors have asked "Does the kitchen still have that awful paint?" She will insist on buying us kitchen towels and the like which match the awful paint.- She will ask for an itemized list with the estimated value of each baby gift we receive and will accuse me of being "secretive" when DH refuses to give her the list.- She will complain about the seats she purchased for "Wicked."- She will be offended that we do not see them off or see them "one more time" before they leave on Monday notwithstanding that we are both working on Monday.

I will start compiling my list right now.  It should be finished by the time they get here.  PS:  I could play this game every Sunday night.

I'm so sick of customers looking at me and treating me like I dont know what I'm doing at work. I dont know how many times a day I wanna slap them! I'm as sweet as can be to them, and they're rude as crap to me. I mean, WTH? I guess thats the price I pay for working in retail. My other B&M is that aunt flo decided to drop by yesterday(while I was at work). A week and a half before she was supposed to be here! lol. I had to run home real quick and fix the situation. lol. Good thing she didnt come during Thanksgiving! That would have been horrendus!(sp?)

I'm so sleeeppyyyy. I swear the food/coffe packets at my desk keep mysteriously disappearing, but I don't really have any co-workers. Who's taking it? I hate that I'm bad at cleaning. I've always been terrible at it. Messiest kid ever. I try...but the mess just surrounds me and keeps coming. It's like Pigpen from Peanuts. I just want a nice neat clean house!

As of last week, I decided to get off of horomonal BC and try NFP/FAM. My horomones are so out of whack, I'm hoping they get back to normal soon. I was in such a horrible mood all day long yesterday. :( It really was frustrating since DH had the day off, too. I just want my body to be normal again!

Resoundingnoise - I know how you feel!  There was a mix-up at my mail-order pharmacy a few years ago and my prescription was very late in arriving, so I went through something similar.  I felt so crazy those days and was not the nicest girlfriend :)  I felt more sane after a few days, so hopefully it won't be long for you!

List of B&Ms (in no particular order): #1- Apparently the dog got into something last night because I woke up to 4 piles of dog vomit. (At least he didn't get "vet" sick, but what a way to wake up). #2- I completely forgot I was supposed to prepare something for the PTA program tomorow tomorrow!!).  My day was SHOT putting some Thanksgiving crap program together for my grade level. #3- Grades are due today and I will be here for at least another hour since my entire day was spent getting kids/paperwork ready for the stupid PTA. (I'm posting because I need a brain break). #4- The kids have holiday syndrome and it's only Monday. #5- I got into a fight with the copy lady over a ream of paper for the grade level printer.  Really?  Just give me the dammmnn paper.#6- I started Weight Watchers again today and I'm starving.  Sigh.  Sorry to be so biatchy.  I needed to get all that out.  On a side note-  the idea of MIL Bingo made me laugh for the first time today!

Resounding and Terri--I had the same problem as Terri earlier this year.  My new prescription was supposed to start in January but it didn't come in on time so I had to wait for my next period to start it.  On top of those hormonal problems, that's always a bad time of year for me so there were a few times when I was questioning everything about myself.  I totally lost it with a friend and am still embarrased about it.  There was no excuse, but it amazes me just how much those pills keep me sane.  I never knew things were so bad before.

I was suppose to start the 30 day shred again today and didn't.7 eleven didn't have their version of the pumpkin spice latte, and really I don't care for the starbucks version since I tried 7 eleven.I am asking for an elliptical machine for x-mas, I over heard my MIL and Fi talking about it and she is thinking about getting me a Bowflex. Hello woman I would be more grateful for the $300 dollar one at Academy. That amount of money for a fitness machine is NOT ok. I don't have a home gym it will be in my guest bedroom and I bet anything I will be the only one using it.I am only getting 32 hours at work, this is Christmas time and I am planning a wedding, but then again I like having the time off to spend with Fi and getting some extra wedding stuff done.

Oh and one more thing. FMIL is just going to ignore the fact that her son wants her with him on Thanksgiving just as much as his sister. I don't think she knows how to split her day in half.
  • edited December 2011
Thanks Amber! I've done it too and I'm excited! My husband is doing it with me (it was his idea), so I hope we are extra successful. I hate being hungry, it is so depressing. But, if you have any tips or recipes please page me and send them my way!

Funny story about the BC. So I was a witch for a few days until things got sorted out. A few weeks later DH (then boyfriend) and I were heading out on a roadtrip. There was some confusion about printing out directions and such that meant we got a few minutes out and then had to turn back. We got directions and headed out again. After an hour on the road and barely missing rush hour, I realized when I'd left my purse with the BC in the house. I had been such a pain those days before withou the BC that DH did not want to go through it again and decided to brave rush hour. We ended up being quite late arriving at a friend's house on that first leg of the trip, but DH was nice enough to say "we had to go back for her ID or else she couldn't drink with us" rather than "you wouldn't like her when she's angry"

I was in such a horrible mood all day long yesterday. :( It really was frustrating since DH had the day off, too. I just want my body to be normal again!I am doing this as well. Except it's because the hormones in the BC TOTALLY killed my sex drive. Like...overkill dead! I can't stand it anymore! I joined mymonthlycycle.com and it helps a LOT if you keep track of your period and symptoms. It also calculates when you ovulate, when you should start your next period, etc.

Apple, I stopped for the same reasons, as well. It sucks to be newly married and have NO sex drive whatsoever. I've been going through fertilityfriend.com, and it does the same thing. I'm still getting the hang of it, though.
  • edited December 2011
You guys have me seriously thinking about stopping BC.  I have no sex drive.  Ever.  I didn't used to be this way, so it's really annoying...but I just don't know if it's worth it to me to have to constantly keep track of my body.  BC is just soo easy.  I guess you give some and take some.
  • edited December 2011
Mariah, it really is extremely easy. I read "Taking Charge Of Your Fertility," and it explains everything. With as easy as it is, I don't know why I started taking hormonal BC. As well, I've learned so much about my body that I never knew before.
