Personalized Guest Books

Hi Ladies, I know this has been asked before, but I can't remember who you used. For those who made custom guest books (with engagements, etc), who did you use? How easy were they to create? Which book option did you pick? How would you rate the quality? I'm making small albums for my parents and in laws and need some information! Thanks ladies!

I used Snapfish mostly because I was in a time crunch and found it very easy to use. They also are running 20% off right now. However, my book did come dented and it had a couple of pages stuck together. I did online chat help and they sent me out a new one overnight, no extra charge and didn't require I ship the other one back. However, I had no luck with their email customer service and I can't find that their online chat exists anymore. As far as quality, I thought the pages were a little thin for what I wanted for a guestbook but don't think i would mind just for a photo album. I am using them again for some holiday gift albums. I had hoped I could do a "save as" with one album to alter to create another family members album but that feature doesn't exist, so that was disappointing. I also had problems with pro pics when I wanted to do a full cover of the book with a picture- it said it wasn't high enough resolution and after consulting several pros, I basically was told it's Snapfish. I am also just starting to try out Picaboo which seems a little more expensive but I expect the quality to be a little higher end. Lindsay recommended it. I am using Picaboo to make some parent's wedding albums, and you can do a "save as" type of thing there. I think they have more flexibility to use photos as a background too, but it seems to be taking me longer than Snapfish did.

I used Blurb for my B-pic book, and they were awesome. The quality was great, and they weren't too expensive. The software took a little bit of getting used to, but once I figured it out, it was so easy. I believe Stephie used them for her guest book, as well.

I like Blurb as well. I don't think their software is confusing, and they've recently added a feature where you can design something on your own, save it as a PDF, and upload that. They have also recently added an option for higher quality paper (the standard is pretty good, though). FI has used them for photography portfolios, and been very pleased with the results. We've done some shopping around, and the prices seem to be very reasonable.

I think I am going with mypublisher.  Right now they have one free but I'm not sure if it's buy one get an exact copy free or buy one now and get one free later.  It is super simple to use.I also messed around with Vistaprint.  I think I liked Vistaprint over the others because you could create your own layout and change the picture sizes.  Blurb seemed to cost more than others so that is why I didn't go with them.  I liked shutterfly because you could access your book online rather than downloading a program like the others.  Plus you get 50 free prints when you create a new account.

Like Jess said, I used Picaboo for both my guest book and my bridal book. If you give me your email address, I can add you to my "list" and you can log in and see what they looked like. I liked the fact that you can choose 1,000's of backgrounds (if you click on "get more backgrounds online) and there are so many page lay outs. It was easy to use but it does take a while.....but some of that is picking out which backgrounds you want!

I used Blurb and loved my guest book. Yes, it was more expensive but I opted for the highest quality paper. I thought the program was a little confusing at first but once you get it, it is easy.

I used Shutterfly, and we just got ours back last week and we LOVE it!  It was so much fun, and so easy to make!  We used the "Elegant Wedding" choice, but they had an option for you to use other papers that were not necessarily in that choice.  We are so pleased!  There is a slideshow of it on our wedding website, on "Our Wedding Stuff".  Hope that helps!

I used mpix. It was a little more expensive than the other sites, but the quality is amazing. The software was easy to use, and their email support was very quick to respond. I had a problem with the proof, and they responded to my email very quickly and fixed the problem.

I have used shutterfly for several different books. They have a great range from more expensive really nice leather or hard covers to the less expensive soft covers. I just made a small guestbook and with my discount it was under $12
