  • I am walking down the isle to an instrumental song from my favorite wes anderson movie, life aquatic. It sounds silly but it is a beautiful song.
  • I will be walking down the aisle to The Secret Life of Daydreams by Jean-Yves Thibaudet (it's from Pride & Prejudice) and my bridesmaids will be walking in to Stars and Butterflies (same composer) I love both of these pieces! My cousin is a pianist and will be playing them :)
  • Canon in D, either just a recording or my brother might play it on his acoustic guitar. We haven't decided because he's a groomsman and it could be awkward. For the recessional we're using the rock version of Canon in D. I'm stoked!
  • "Today" by Josh Radin.
  • Prelude: “Highland Cathedral” by Uli Roever and Michael Korb “Sleepers Awake” by Johann Sebastian Bach “Allegro Moderato No. 3” By: Johann Sebastian Bach Wedding Party Processional: “Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring” By: Johann Sebastian Bach Bridal entrance with Mother: “Wedding March” by: Mendelssohn Liszt Horowitz Unity Candle/Presentation of Flowers to Mother Mary: "Ave Maria" by: Charles Gounod Recessional: “Ode to Joy” by: Ludwig van Beethoven We are having a Catholic wedding so there is also a Responsorial Psalm Psalm (112: 1bc-2, 3-4, 5-7a, 7b-8, 9) which is sung, and an Alleluia Verse 1 John 4:12 which is sung.

  • I"m walking down the aisle to Oliver Schroer's instrumental "a song for all seasons (the prayerful hymn)" it's my favourite song at the moment. everyone else will most likely walk down to fiddle music by the same artist.
  • Does anyone have the acoustic guitar version of Canon D. This is what I'd like to have my brother-in-law play, but I'm having a hard time finding a version of it, so we can hear how it sounds.
  • My bridesmaids walked in to "Stairway to Heaven" played live instrumentallyI walked in to "It's You" by Michelle Branch. Couldn't find an instrumental version of this song so the actual one with lyrics was played and I am so glad it did. The song speaks for itself and said so much.
  • my fiance's grandfather will play Fur Elise by beethoven on a grand piano while i walk down the aisle!:)
  • I walked to Pachelbel's Canon in D, played by a cellist and a violinist.  Easiest decision of the whole wedding - I couldn't imagine using anything else!Versions of contemporary songs - instrumental or with lyrics -  seem to make up a huge portion of the responses here, but I'm certain I've never seen it done in real life.  Do people change their minds later on and go with something more traditional, or have I just managed to never be at one of these weddings?  Hmm.
  • I'm walking down the aisle to Sade "By You Side".  I'm having a beach wedding and I thought it would be perfect.
  • wedding party and myself are walking down to "the wedding song" by bob dylan.  for when we finish the ceremony and fiance and i walk back down the aisle together we are playing "mr. bluesky" by electric light orchestra.  very good song to start celebrating!
  • I walked to "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz. My whole music theme was reggae and "summer music" and I've loved Jason Mraz for a very very long time. So it was very "me" and I got a lot of compliments on it.
  • afnault - I was looking at using those same pieces... where did you get the sheet music?
  • "The Lover's Waltz" by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason. I'm hoping to have a violinist and guitarist or two violins play it live.

  • The bridesmaid and myself are walking down to our song. To Make You Feel My Love Bob Dylan/Garth Brooks. A friend of ours will be singing and playing the song on piano.
  • For anyone doing the Beatles - I recently played a wedding with a clarinetist (so cello and clarinet) and all we did was covers of Beatles songs (with a few exceptions, like the recessional being Can You Feel The Love Tonight, hahaha).  It was really nice, and you could tell that people loved knowing the music that was being played, even though there were no words. So my music:Bridesmaids:  Borodin Quartet No. 2 in D Major, movement III. NocturneMe:  Brahms Piano Quartet No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 25, movement III. Andante con motoCatholic Mass stuffRecessional:  Richard Strauss Piano Trio No. 1, movement I. Allegro moderatoAll of it has been arranged for piano and cello, with the exception of the Strauss which will use the normal instrumentation (piano, cello, and violin).I didn't want anything that I have ever played or heard played at a wedding before, which is why everything is kind of obscure/random.
  • We seated our parents with "Storybook Love" from Princess Bride (instrumental version) Bridesmaids walked in to the Theme from Cirque du Soleil "O" I walked in to the Feather Theme from Forrest Gump. Our recessional was "All I Want Is You" from Juno. We had a blast!
