Makeup review: Kirkland Borghese

I got pink eye, so I had to buy new makeup AGAIN, and all new brushes AGAIN, so I rolled it into the Costco trip this month. I bought the Kirkland Signature Borghese mineral makeup set and the Borghese brushes. They pared down the brushes considerably since the last time I bought them, and I'm not as happy with them. The quality on the brushes they included is good, but there's no eyebrow/lash comb, and there are several blunt-ended stiff little brushes that are good for eyeliner, but not really anything else. Only two brushes decent for eyeshadow layering and filling in brows - which is a three-brush job on my eyes. And there are three big all-over face brushes, only one of which I use. All in all, not the best brush assortment in the world, but it was difficult to tell when they were in the package that so many would be useless to me.The mineral makeup set was a good buy, though. It came with foundation powder, bronzer, eyemakeup primer, three shadows, and a pressed powder liner. It also came with a kabuki brush and a double-ended eyeshadow brush, which solved one of my brush issues. The foundation gives good coverage without being cakey, flakey, or weird looking. It's a tad too dark for me, so I have to go lightly, but if you're not Irish, they have a shade for you. I have not used the bronzer/blush stuff - I'm rosy, and usually go without. The shadows are good for everyday wear, very neutral. All in all, this is a decent buy, IMO. It's better than the Maybelline mineral makeup I tried just before it. I picked up an additional shadow pallette as well, but it takes a lot of shadow to get any color. Good for everyday wear - I mean, I don't really need to be made up for the pickup lane at school - but I will have to buy something more pigmenty for nighttimes or concerts.

Are you pissing your husband off so much that he regularly bare-ass farts on your pillow?

Farts cause pink-eye? Wha?No, Bacon's had it twice this year. I tossed my makeup the first time because it was about time to do so anyway, and waited till her infection cleared up. This time I got it, as I did every year when I was a kid. I'm prone to it.

Oh, no wonder. I blocked that movie from my memory. I still wish someone could give me that 5 hours of my life back. Oh, wait, it only FELT like 5.

I don't throw away my brushed when I get pink eye - I just clean them with really, really hot water and soap. Never had a problem with reinfection. The makeup, it does get thrown out, and if I got pink eye right now it would cost me eleventyjillion dollars in eye shadow alone.

Oh - these brushes are advertised as anti-microbial, which is a bonus. Min, I don't take chances. I toss it all, just in case. I'm paranoid about going blind from it.

If you don't treat it, I would guess so. Or if you get the wrong treatment. Or if you just keep getting it. I mean, I assume anything that happens in your eyes can blind you. I just won't take the risk.

This is a question for the kindly Dr. Hott Sexxx thenext time I see him...or do my own research. As a contact lens wearer, I get pink eye infections frequently. If someone mentions it, I get it. It is very upsetting, as a germaphobic as I am that I keep getting pink eye.

min, quit picking your nose and rubbing your fingers in your eyes. (that's what my parents told me would give me pink eye...)

Everyone I've known who gets it ALWAYS gets it. And people who don't, don't. My dad never got it. I don't think my bros ever had it. My H hasn't ever had it. I think it's one of those viruses that just likes certain people. And don't you like being likable, Min?

Are the same people who get pink eye the ones who the mosquitos love...'cuz I could come up with a viable conspiracy theory with that data.
