Happy Friday dear!!! When do you get out of school for winter break? I don't have any suggestions for alcoholic beverages, but now I'm thinking I might try and talk some girlfriends into going out for mexican and margaritas. :-) Other than that, I'm just hoping to get off work early so I can get some more Christmas shopping in. Im on call tomorrow though, so I get to spend my Saturday with the sick kids. But they're just so stinkin' cute, and I don't really mind!

[QUOTE]Amh - How far are you in Pre-Cana? FI and I did our inventory test last time we were together! It was pretty fun. On the front page they have the regular demographic information, and I was joking around saying... 'oh how many months HAS it been!?' for the "how long in months have you been courting" question, the msgr informed us that many times couples actually get that wrong. ..later I asked FI  what he put....AND HE PUT THE WRONG NUMBER. He put like 37 when we had been dating for 41 months. It was funny.

We did our Focus Test back in September and went over it with our Priest, we did really well - but I think its because we really truly have talked about everything together, esp finances and parenting. Thats too funny that people put the wrong number! I do admit I had to count it out. We just have the class from 9:30 - 5(i think) on Saturday. Only two more tests on our Natural Family Planning class to go and we are done wtih that as well :)

Just a one day thing :) Its about 8 hours as well - our priest wanted us to do the Engage and Encanter retreat, but it really isn't feaseable - FI has duty pretty much every weekend they offered it, and there is no way I could just leave puppy dog alone all weekend long. Plus - we definitely didn't want to spend THAT much money on it.

Was it Engagement Encounter?  We had the option of a few different classes, and that was one of them.  We were also limited on dates we could do it because it had to be when H was in town.  Plus it's supposed to be within like 6 months of the wedding (or some time frame) and we were originally planning a New Year's Eve wedding and weren't thinking about the class yet.  So when we bumped up the wedding by 5 months we were very limited in what dates were left and still available.

But yeah you'll probably enjoy it.  The deacon and his wife that ran the class were really nice and funny.  And they had a ton of forms and things that we would split up to fill out then H and I would meet back up to go over our answers.  We were originally nervous that people would look at our answers and say "sinners" or something like that, but nobody ever sees what you wrote except you and your FI.

Crown yay for being so close!

Sami I took 1 year after finishing my Bachelor's in education to start my Master's.  Then I decided to be an overachiever and do my Master's within 1 year.  My Master's program was 33 credits, or 11 classes.   I was subbing when I started in January and took 3 classes in one semester to get it over with.  1 of them was onine so that helped, and then I always had at least 2 free periods a day while teaching to do work.  Then our summer classes were split into 2 sessions, so I took 2 classes each session.  Then the fall semester I took my last 3 classes and finished in Dec.  It was a stressful year, but I was sooo happy to have it over with so fast.

Looking back now, I kinda wish I would have dragged it out a bit to spread out the student loan deferments.  At  the time I was teaching in NY, where it's required to get a Master's within 5 years of your initial certification.  Now of course I'll be living in a state where a Master's isn't required.  But it never hurts to have it, so overall I'm still glad I did it.

Happy Friday! I got some fantastic news from my preggo sister last night, so I'm in a super good mood! I can't say anything on fb because she wants it to stay on the DL so she can get gender-neutral stuff. But I think I'm safe here...I'm getting a NEPHEW!! I'm super excited because a) I already have a niece, so I was hoping for a boy. And b) it further proves that I am psychic. Among other dreams that have come true, a week before my sister's now H proposed, I dreamt she showed me her ring and we started jumping up and down screaming. A couple months before my other sister had my niece, I dreamt it was a girl. And now a month ago I dreamt my sister had a boy. This morning I picked out all of mine and FI's outfits for engagement pics, since we need to pack to go home soon. And tonight we have FI's shop's holiday party, so I'm pretty excited for that!

Happy Almost Anniversay!!! I will wish again on the day.  I am hoping for a fast year here!  I try to look at things on an academic calendar.  It makes things go faster.  You know August to July kind.  So I count semesters instead of months.  It sounds much shorter.  Try it.

This weekend my mom is coming down.  We are going to do some "Christmasy" things and then dinner.  I am making Gluwine since it is getting cold here.  Well I am doctoring up Gluwine that I found at the Class 6.

Then on Sunday, I am going to finish up my class and submit everything so I can enjoy the season.  After Friday, I will have 1 yeah ONE more class until I can say Crownsuperstar, M.Ed.  HAA!!!

    Happy Anniversary!  (Almost!)

I just can't wake up at work. I didn't wake up until 6:30 this morning (I normally LEAVE at 6:30). I have no motivation to do anything today because I am so tired. BOO. I need to do some Christmas shopping this weekend. The hardest person to buy for is FI. He HATES making lists, so I always have to get creative. I do have an idea for him, but it is super expensive (well for us) and we agreed not to spend that much on each other because of the impending wedding.

As far as drinks go, I'm a huge baileys and hot chocolate fan. But my go to drink is a Malibu and Sprite with lime...It tastes like skittles, however it is more of a summery drink.

Sami-my go to drink is vodka soda. If it is made right, it tastes like you're drinking water. It's awesome.

Happy almost Anniversary Sami!! One of my favorites - aside from margaritas - is vodka and lemonade, but thats very summery. I love hot apple cider and sailor jerrys tho. That is pure wintery goodness.
    Yay for nephews Binxy!!

We have Pre-Cana (premarital counseling) on Saturday. Sunday we have church. I'm hoping to just stay home, obviously, and just clean and do wedding stuff. I don't really want to go much of anywhere. I might venture out to DSW to buy my wedding shoes. Other than that thats really about it for me.

Oh man, TK is all out of order again, I'm not sure who said what or when on this thread.

Sami: Happy almost 1 year to you and your H!!!

This weekend is H's full weekend off, he's been on duty for most of them the past few weeks. We have the ship's holiday party tomorrow night and I am still unsure of what to wear! I don't know if I should just wear one of my dresses or go buy a new one. We're also planning on checking out this shopping center that Binx told me about, we'll do that tomorrow during the day and we need to get our presents for H's family packed up since there's so many of them. We don't have any plans for Sunday just yet.

My go to drink has always been Malibu Pine(malibu and pineapple juice). It's just so yummy! Other favorites of mine are: American Lemonade(Red wine with lemonade), Peach Oolong(Peach Schnapps with oolong tea), I can't think of others right now, but can you tell I love me some cocktails?!

I guess help that Msgr has known FI since he was 7 years old and is willing to help out.  I did get to hear hilarious stories about little FI who aparently caught part of the Cathedral carpet on fire when he was an alter boy.

I sort of want to the NFP class, have you started it? How is it?

Mel- I'm out on Monday... Well.. I take my Math Final on Monday so I'll be on Winter break until Jan 9th as of 11:50am(EST) December 12th!!  I found out today that my classwork average in math is a 90.7, but my test average obviously blows. I'm 2 pts from a B for the class overall so I'm going to study my butt off over the weekend to hopefully bring it up those last 2 pts!!  If not, I might cry.  haha Just kidding!! I realized today though that I can't even remember what classes I'm registered for next semester.. I need to figure that out so I can buy my books!! Silly Me!!

Crown- Random question, but did you start your masters right after finishing your BA?  I want a masters but I'm trying to decide if I want to teach for a year or two before starting.. advice? Yay for being so close to finishing!!!

Lol. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Thankfully we are doing it online - we got a book in that explains all the antitomical parts of it.. and yes it feels a little like Sex Ed in middle school all over again.. 'This is a penis...' not kidding.
I've taking the first follow up - and have to chart for 2 weeks and submit it and then take the second follow up. There are only 3 total, so it takes about 5 weeks. and it really isn't a lot of work.
I have to chart for it - or I had the option of reading some articles and writing a paragraph on it. But I figured that, I am paying for the class, so I might as well go all in. Maybe I'll learn something. It's slightly a pain, every morning, before I get out of bed or move at all I have to take my temperature and write it down.
I think its at least nice to really know how 'it' all works - like the baby making fertility process of it. Obviously I know how baby making works - but like in depth.
Maybe it will come in handy one day... Who knows.

I am quoting since I have no idea what in the world the knot is up to today.  AGAIN!!!

Sami- I did not start my masters right away.  I knew it was something that I wanted to do and something that I had to do to move up in my profession.  I was so over school at that point that the thought of going back really was not something that I wanted to do right then.  I started my masters about six years after my undergradate degree.  I should have started sooner but because of the type of work I was doing then and the lack of on-line colleges to choose from back then it didn't work out that way.

    Happy Anniversary!

Drink suggestion: this was a drink we made at the restaurant I worked at. We called it a Cottage milkshake because Cottage was part of our name but it's vanilla ice cream, baileys, creme de cocoa, and butterscotch schnapps (I'm sure I misspelled one of those) but you put it all in a blender and voila. It's delicious!

Crown- I'm so torn.  My university actually has a masters program that a friend of mine is doing and she was like "do it now!!!! don't wait!!" mostly because she has to balance her teaching job (5th grade), time with her H (He's a zoo keeper with my mom!) and her absolutely PRECIOUS daughter! she said it makes it super hard.  H is getting baby fever again (That man.. he has it when I don't, and I do when he doesn't!! I figure when we finally sync our baby fever up.. it'll be time).  I guess it's probably just because I'm hardcore in school mode but I'll be finishing up my BA in like 2 more years and I'm like shoot!! lets add another year and half on to that and get a masters while I'm at it!! I'll be like 25 or 26 so still plenty of time for babies!!

I'm slightly embarrassed. I pulled out the military card in order to get a consultation with the best cake place in the state.

I had wanted to meet with them when FI was in town...But I waited a little late to make an appointment. When I initially emailed, They were full until late January for consults. I told her my FI was in the military and this was the last time he was coming home before the wedding. Lo and behold a spot opened up the day he gets in.
